Jouw aandeel in de bouw van een Feadship

Elk jaar verlaten gemiddeld drie superjachten de droogdokken van de werf van Koninklijke De Vries Scheepsbouw. Luxe, op maat gemaakte jachten die zich onderscheiden door de kwaliteit van constructie, techniek en afwerking.

Als Project Manager Engineering werk je aan projecten van uitzonderlijke omvang en complexiteit. De bouw van een superjacht duurt gemiddeld drie jaar. Voor de klant is dit een persoonlijk proces, waarin een droom werkelijkheid wordt. Binnen dit speelveld van maatwerk, techniek en samenwerking tussen disciplines, heb jij een centrale rol.

Dit ga je doen als aankomend Project Manager Engineering

Voor jou ligt hier een positie met hoge dynamiek en verantwoordelijkheid. Je werkt midden in de engineering van een superjacht, waar disciplines zoals constructie, interieur, exterieur, werktuigbouw en elektrotechniek samenkomen. Alles moet naadloos op elkaar aansluiten. En daar speel jij een sleutelrol in.

Als Project Manager Engineering coördineer je de samenwerking tussen deze engineerings-disciplines. Je organiseert en leidt integratie-overleggen en zorgt dat technische keuzes tijdig en goed worden gemaakt. Je bewaakt de voortgang, signaleert risico's en brengt het effect van wijzigingen in kaart. Daarbij zorg je dat informatie op het juiste moment bij de juiste mensen terechtkomt en dat afspraken worden nagekomen.

Je bent de spil die overzicht houdt, mensen verbindt en het engineeringproces in beweging houdt.

Het is een rol waarin je het echt moet hebben van je ondernemerschap, klantgerichtheid en daadkracht. Je ontwikkelt je inhoudelijk én procesmatig, maar ook in stakeholdermanagement en het sturen van teams. Je leert hoe je overzicht houdt in een complexe omgeving en hoe je mensen meeneemt in keuzes en oplossingen.

Jij bent bovenal iemand die uitstekend in staat is om 'boven het project' te staan. Jij kunt prima een taak overdragen, maar denkt wel mee over oplossingen. Jij weet wanneer je wél, maar vooral ook níet in actie moet komen. Jij houdt mensen on track. Mensen omschrijven jou als een onafhankelijk persoon. Dankzij, maar ook ondanks, deze onafhankelijke denk- en werkwijze, krijg jij de vrijheid en het vertrouwen. Jij hebt geen bevestiging nodig om successen te kunnen vieren.

Verder heb je:

• een afgeronde technische of maritieme opleiding (hbo/wo)
• ervaring in de jachtbouw/scheepsbouw is een must
• enkele jaren werkervaring in projectmanagement
• ervaring in alle fasen van het engineeringproces
• je voelt je thuis in een steeds wisselende omgeving waarin de klantwens centraal staat
• uitstekende communicatieve vaardigheden in woord en geschrift, in de Nederlandse en Engelse taal

• Direct and oversee discipline-specific engineering operations across the project lifecycle
• Serve as primary contact to align EPCM contractor, client site reps, and home-office discipline teams
• Monitor contractor performance, manage scope, quality, budget, and deliverables; escalate risks
• Provide expert technical advice and resolve complex discipline-related engineering challenges
• Approve key design decisions per authorization procedures
• Ensure design input from operations, maintenance, and site reps
• Conduct site inspections and data collection/verification with EPCM contractor
• Support procurement activities and align site management with project teams

Overview

In this role you lead the discipline engineering within a major project, acting as the technical authority and primary liaison among the EPCM contractor, client site representatives, and home-office teams. You drive quality, scope clarity, and timely delivery of design and drawings, while upholding safety and operational standards. You will work with operations, maintenance, and site stakeholders to incorporate practical input and support procurement. This position offers impact across large capital projects in a global, cross-functional environment.
