Introduction

ANVA has developed a new multi-tenant SaaS contract management platform for insurers, combining new technology with fifty years of domain expertise. Security is a strategic investment at ANVA as we continue to scale our cloud-native SaaS platform in a highly regulated industry.

We are looking for a SOC Engineer to build and own ANVA's detection and incident response capability from the ground up. This role focuses on building monitoring capabilities, detections, automation, and response playbooks.

Your Impact

As a Senior SOC Engineer, you will define and implement the future of detection engineering and incident response across ANVA. You will own telemetry visibility, build and tune detections, lead incident investigations, develop automation, and serve as the primary technical expert on monitoring and response. Working directly with the IT Security Lead, you will have significant autonomy and influence over the security direction of the company.

You will own the build-out of our detection engineering and incident response capability, working alongside our managed detection and response (MDR) partner and supporting the technical controls behind our ISAE 3000 assurance program.

Rather than inheriting someone else's security operations model, you will define it yourself. Within two years, you will be able to look at a mature detection and response capability and confidently say: _"I built that."_

Your Key Responsibilities

Detection & Visibility

Own telemetry coverage across cloud, endpoint, identity, application, and infrastructure log sources
Assess and prioritize the detection and response roadmap against a defined threat model
Tune MDR-managed and baseline detections to the insurance and fintech threat landscape
Develop custom detection logic where coverage gaps exist
Balance detection effectiveness against alert fatigue and operational noise

Incident Response & Automation

Design and maintain incident response playbooks covering unauthorized access, data exfiltration, and breach scenarios
Build triage and evidence collection automation
Define alert thresholds and escalation criteria used by the MDR partner
Lead investigations during security incidents
Run tabletop exercises and continuously improve response procedures

Compliance & Governance

Own technical controls supporting the ISAE 3000 assurance program
Support auditors with detection and response-related inquiries
Develop and hand over operational runbooks and logging standards to IT, Development, and Operations teams
Ensure monitoring controls remain aligned with regulatory and customer expectations

Who Are You?

You are a Security Engineer with:

7+ years of experience in Security Operations, Incident Response, or Detection Engineering
Proven experience creating, testing, and tuning detection logic within SIEM or security data platforms
Experience leading incident investigations from scoping through containment and post-incident reporting
Experience working with MDR or outsourced SOC partners
Strong knowledge of cloud and application telemetry, including AWS environments
Experience with CloudTrail, VPC Flow Logs, GuardDuty, IAM, and identity attack paths
Familiarity with Spring Boot applications and containerized microservices
Experience working with endpoint telemetry across Windows, Linux, and macOS
Knowledge of CrowdStrike, AWS Security Lake, Elastic Stack, or equivalent platforms
Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code and Detection-as-Code approaches
Scripting skills in Python, Bash, or similar languages
Strong communication skills and stakeholder management capabilities
Nice to have: experience with SSDLC and application security tooling such as Aikido, SAST, and SCA platforms

Additional benefits

13th month
8% holiday allowance per year
27,5 vacation days per year based on full-time employment
A premium-free pension, meaning ANVA covers the full pension contribution, allowing you to retain more net income
The option to work from abroad for 4 weeks a year
A budget of € 750 to set up your home work environment
Training and development programs at ANVA's expense
Company-organized events, ranging from karaoke and football tournaments to laser tag
Free coffee, soft drinks, and fruit, plus a partially subsidized lunch by ANVA, with the option to order take away dinner for home.

Are you a Senior Data Engineer eager to build production-grade Data & AI platforms that impact millions of lives? Here, our HR tech solutions help governments and public institutions worldwide shape the labor market of tomorrow.

Senior Data Engineer

Are you a senior Data Engineer who wants to leverage data engineering, MLOps, and architecture skills to build production-grade data and AI platforms with real-world impact? We build high-impact, mission critical HR tech solutions used by governments and public institutions across the globe to help millions of people find suitable jobs today and prepare for the labor market of tomorrow. We are expanding our team with a senior Data Engineer to help us responsibly build scalable data and AI platforms that turn real-world client data into reliable product capabilities.

This is a hands-on role where you will work with cross-functional teams to design, build, deploy, and operate data and AI platform capabilities for solutions that impact and improve the lives of millions of people around the world. You will combine strong engineering skills with pragmatic judgment and ownership over production outcomes, ensuring that we do the right things and do them right.

What you'll do

Data platforms, data pipelines, databases, and data products

Design, build, and operate scalable data platforms, databases, and pipelines that ingest, transform, validate, and connect data from multiple internal and external sources, including messy, incomplete, and heterogeneous real-world client data.
Design and optimize relational, analytical, operational, and vector-oriented data stores for large-scale workloads, semantic search, matching, recommendations, and other AI-enabled capabilities.
Create reusable data products, canonical data models, curated datasets, and feature-ready assets for Data Scientists, product teams, implementation teams, and customer-facing applications.
Build in data quality, metadata, observability, and lineage so teams can trust the data and understand where it came from, how it changed, and how it is being used.

Cloud infrastructure and operational reliability

Design, deploy, and maintain cloud-native data and AI platform components on AWS, using automation and infrastructure-as-code wherever possible.
Work hands-on with storage, compute, networking, access control, secrets management, monitoring, logging, CI/CD, orchestration, and deployment automation.
Ensure data and AI workloads are secure, scalable, cost-effective, maintainable, and supported by pragmatic architectural trade-offs across environments.

MLOps, AI governance, and responsible operation

Enable Data Scientists and AI engineers to turn experiments, models, prompts, embeddings, and retrieval pipelines into reliable production services.
Support automated workflows for model training, validation, deployment, versioning, monitoring, retraining, lifecycle management, and lineage across datasets, features, models, prompts, embeddings, evaluations, deployments, and production outcomes.
Implement monitoring and alerting for data quality issues, model performance, data drift, concept drift, embedding drift, and unexpected changes in production behavior.
Translate AI governance requirements into workable platform capabilities such as audit trails, approval gates, access controls, evaluation workflows, release controls, and operational dashboards.

Collaboration and technical ownership

Work closely with Data Scientists, Architects, DevOps engineers, Product Owners, and project teams to translate data and AI needs into maintainable technical solutions.
Act as a senior technical sparring partner on data architecture, platform design, MLOps, AI governance, operational readiness, and production support, with a strong focus on practical decisions that keep solutions understandable, supportable, and reliable over time.
Document data flows, model flows, platform designs, operational procedures, and architectural decisions so solutions can be understood, supported, audited, improved, and kept reliable in production.
Take ownership of production outcomes: not just building pipelines and services, but ensuring they keep working, remain understandable, and support the people and products that depend on them.

Work conditions

Hybrid work setup when not traveling (60% in our Utrecht office, 40% from home).
Travel internationally as required (incidentally, depending on project needs).

Core requirements

A completed degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Statistics, Mathematics, Econometrics, or another quantitative or technical field; a Master's degree is a plus.
At least 5 years of professional experience in data engineering, platform engineering, MLOps, cloud engineering, or a closely related role.
Strong experience designing, building, and operating scalable data platforms, pipelines, data lakes, or data products in production environments, including ETL development, workflow orchestration, data quality controls, metadata, lineage, and operational monitoring.
Strong architectural judgment and a pragmatic, hands-on mindset, with the ability to balance speed, scalability, cost, security, governance, reliability, and maintainability while taking ownership in complex technical environments.
Experience supporting production AI or machine learning services with monitoring, versioning, lifecycle management, reproducibility, deployment traceability, lineage, drift detection, audit trails, access control, and operational controls across datasets, features, models, and deployments.
Strong hands-on experience with AWS-based infrastructure and services, Python, Docker, infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, and production-grade deployment practices for data or platform workloads.
Ability to turn messy, incomplete, inconsistent, or fast-changing real-world data into reliable, usable, and well-documented assets.
Advanced SQL skills and substantial experience with database design, query optimization, canonical data models, scalable schema design, and modeling for complex business domains.
Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across Data Science, DevOps, Architecture, Product, implementation, Security, and Privacy stakeholders.
Professional-level English, both written and spoken.

Preferred qualifications

Experience with AWS data, compute, networking, security, monitoring, and deployment services, such as S3, Lambda, Glue, Step Functions, EventBridge, Athena, EMR, RDS, Redshift, DynamoDB, ECS, ECR, EC2, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Systems Manager, Secrets Manager, KMS, API Gateway, or AWS CDK.
Experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, Bitbucket Pipelines, AWS Lake Formation, AWS DataZone, AWS Glue Data Catalog, or lakehouse architectures.
Experience with MLflow, Amazon SageMaker, AWS Bedrock, feature stores, model registries, experiment tracking, evaluation stores, model monitoring platforms, drift detection, or AI observability tools.
Familiarity with lakehouse architectures, Data Vault Modeling, data mesh concepts, data contracts, master data management, schema registries, data lineage frameworks, metadata management, or enterprise data cataloging.
Experience with vector databases, embedding storage, vector indexing techniques, retrieval-augmented generation architectures, or semantic search platforms.
Full-stack software development experience or experience building APIs and services that expose data or AI capabilities to products.
Familiarity with frameworks such as GDPR, the EU AI Act, ISO 27001, and ISO 42001.
Ability to translate data governance, AI governance, compliance, and risk management needs into pragmatic platform capabilities such as approval gates, audit trails, evaluation workflows, release controls, and post-deployment monitoring.
AWS certifications are a plus.
Experience working with public-sector, HR tech, labor market, staffing, or other socially impactful data domains is a plus.
Why Join?
Real Impact: Your code directly helps millions of people find employment.
Modern Stack: Work with cutting-edge MLOps and GenAI architectures. xvlobhg

Job Description

Are you a Senior Full Stack Engineer who thrives on building scalable web applications and AI-driven tech and looking for high-autonomy impact on a 4 or 5-day workweek (32-40 hours)?

Your Mission:

As our Senior Full Stack Engineer in Groningen, your mission is to architect, build, and scale core features across our recruitment technology platform. Working across the full software lifecycle, exclusively utilizing Svelte on the frontend and Symfony 8 on the backend, you will help empower hundreds of global enterprises to hire smarter. We are looking for a true software engineer who writes clean, foundational code rather than relying solely on framework-level scripting. Bringing senior-level engineering rigor and a passion for clean architecture, you will turn complex product visions into high-performing, maintainable code.

What You Will Do:

  • Architect, develop, and maintain responsive frontend applications strictly in Svelte and robust backend services exclusively in Symfony 8 across the platform ecosystem.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, UI/UX designers, and QA engineers to scope, estimate, and ship scalable, high-impact features in an Agile environment.
  • Integrate modern AI capabilities, data pipelines, and third-party systems (such as ATS platforms) through reliable RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
  • Write clean, highly testable, and efficient core code, demonstrating deep language fundamentals and custom software engineering beyond framework-level scripting.

  • Identify and execute tech debt refactoring, optimize database/query performance, and troubleshoot complex production issues across the stack.
  • Share expertise, collaborate asynchronously, and help foster an inclusive, engineering-first culture across our international team.

What We Look For:

  • 10+ years of professional software engineering experience developing full-stack web applications in modern SaaS or tech environments.
  • 10+ years of deep experience in full-stack engineering, with proven, hands-on mastery of PHP (strictly Symfony framework) and modern frontend development (preferably Svelte).
  • Strong foundational programming skills, with the ability to write custom, low-level logic and clean architecture from scratch, rather than relying solely on framework abstractions, scripting and AI.
  • Strong expertise with relational and non-relational databases (e.g., MySQL, MariaDB) and designing scalable REST/GraphQL APIs.
  • Practical experience with cloud architecture (GCP), containerization (Docker), and modern CI/CD pipelines.
  • A strong dedication to automated testing practices (unit, integration, e2e) and clean code principles.
  • Native Dutch speaking, professional fluency in English, with the confidence to articulate technical ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Over de vacature

Ready for a challenge?

Then Just Eat might be the place for you.

We're a leading global online delivery platform, and our vision is to empower everyday convenience. Whether it's a Friday-night feast, a post-gym poke bowl, or grabbing some groceries, our tech platform connects tens of millions of customers with hundreds of thousands of restaurant, grocery and convenience partners across the globe.

About this role

At the heart of our engineering organization is a commitment to delivering high-quality, resilient, and flawless software experiences. In this role, you will act as a quality advocate across the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) - combining strong foundational QA methodologies, critical thinking, and human judgment with an enthusiasm for exploring modern, AI-assisted testing practices to drive efficiency and innovation.

You will join a cross-functional team that values bold ideas, technical excellence, and modern quality practices. Working closely with Product Managers and Developers from day one, you will shape requirements, build robust test automation, ensure system performance, and safeguard our release pipelines. You will have end-to-end ownership of quality - from the moment initial requirements are defined, all the way through to deployment and production monitoring.

Location: This role is based in our Enschede office

These are some of the key components to the position:

  • End-to-End Quality Ownership: Take full ownership of quality for incoming features-participating in early requirement refinement, defining test strategies, executing automation, and supporting production deployments.
  • Test Automation & Frameworks: Design, build, and maintain scalable API and E2E automation frameworks using Java, Kotlin, RestAssured, and Spring Boot.
  • Pipeline & CI/CD Integration: Integrate automated test suites into our CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions to enable fast, reliable, and continuous feedback loops.
  • Performance & Reliability: Plan and execute performance testing to identify bottlenecks and ensure high availability under peak loads.
  • Observability & Monitoring: Use Datadog to monitor system behavior in pre-production and production environments, proactively tracking down bugs and metrics.
  • Test Management & Traceability: Organize, document, and manage comprehensive test plans and execution reports using Jira and Zephyr Scale.

What will you bring to the team?

  • Experience: At least 3+ years of professional experience in Quality Engineering or Software Testing.
  • Technical Expertise: Hands-on experience using RestAssured and the Spring Boot ecosystem for API automation.
  • E2E & Performance Testing: Proven track record in designing End-to-End test suites and executing performance/load testing.
  • CI/CD & Tooling: Practical experience with GitHub Actions for automated build/test pipelines, along with hands-on usage of Postman, Zephyr Scale, Jira, and Datadog.
  • DevOps & Quality Mindset: A shift-left testing approach, taking pride in catching issues early in requirement phases rather than late in testing.
  • Communication: Fluent English skills and the ability to articulate quality risks and technical concepts clearly to cross-functional stakeholders.

Technical bonus points

  • AI-Assisted Working: Experience with AI-augmented tools (e.g., Open Code, Claude Code, Kiro or Lumen) to accelerate test case generation, automation code, and troubleshooting.
  • AI-DLC Knowledge: Familiarity with the AI Development Life Cycle and testing AI/LLM-integrated applications.
  • Infrastructure & Cloud: Understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, and Cloud environments (AWS/GCP).
  • Event-Driven Testing: Experience testing microservices architectures and messaging systems (e.g., Kafka, SQS).

Our Tech stack

  • Languages & Frameworks: Java, Kotlin, RestAssured, Spring Boot
  • QA & Testing Tools: Postman, Zephyr Scale, Jira, Datadog
  • CI/CD & DevOps: GitHub Actions, Sonic
  • AI & Productivity: AI-assisted development & testing tools (Open Code,Kiro, Claude Code)
