Dit ga je doen

Als Solutions Architect binnen het EIFFEL Solutions Lab zorg jij ervoor dat succesvolle AI-oplossingen uitgroeien tot schaalbare diensten die keer op keer waarde leveren. Je vertaalt innovatieve pilots naar een herhaalbaar aanbod en bouwt het fundament waarop onze AI- en digitale oplossingen kunnen groeien.
Jij  bent verantwoordelijk voor het technologische fundament van het EIFFEL Solutions-aanbod.
Je:

• Ontwerpt en beheert de servicecatalogus voor Legal, Finance en Engineering & Projects.
• Vertaalt succesvolle klantoplossingen naar schaalbare en herhaalbare diensten.
• Ontwikkelt gedeelde bouwblokken voor onder meer AI-agents, documentverwerking, dataontsluiting, integraties en automatisering.
• Definieert architectuurstandaarden voor schaalbaarheid, security, governance en beheerbaarheid.
• Werkt nauw samen met AI Solutions Leads om proposities sneller naar de markt te brengen.
• Schakelt met DevOps Engineers om oplossingen productiegeschikt en toekomstbestendig te maken.
• Adviseert over cloudplatformen, integratievraagstukken en technologiekeuzes.
• Stuurt op hergebruik, adoptie en kwaliteit binnen het solutionportfolio.
• Werkt samen met technologiepartners om best-in-class oplossingen te realiseren.

• Minimaal 8 tot 10 jaar ervaring als Solutions Architect, Enterprise Architect, Lead Engineer of vergelijkbaar.
• Ervaring met cloudplatformen zoals Azure, AWS of GCP.

Het EIFFEL Solutions Lab ontwikkelt, valideert en schaalt nieuwe AI- en digitale proposities voor Legal, Finance en Engineering & Projects. Hier combineren we diepe domeinkennis met de nieuwste technologie om oplossingen te bouwen die organisaties daadwerkelijk vooruithelpen.
Je werkt in een ondernemend team met Venture Builder, DevOps Engineers, software engineers en externe technologiepartners. Samen ontwikkelen jullie oplossingen die niet alleen werken, maar ook schaalbaar, veilig en commercieel succesvol zijn.

Dit ga je doen als

Je bent verantwoordelijk voor de infrastructuur- en securityarchitectuur van de AWS-landing zone binnen NS. Je vertaalt de strategie, enterprise-architectuur en NS-architectuurkaders naar concrete ontwerpen, bouwblokken en verbeteringen. Dankzij jouw diepgaande AWS-kennis en vermogen om strategie te vertalen naar de praktijk ben jij van onschatbare waarde bij het:

• Ontwerpen, doorontwikkelen en bewaken van de infrastructuur- en securityarchitectuur van de AWS-landing zone.
• Vertalen van enterprise-architectuur, wet- en regelgeving en stakeholderbehoeften naar toepasbare kaders, guardrails en bouwblokken.
• Ondersteunen van DevOps-teams bij het realiseren van oplossingen, zodat zij zoveel mogelijk zelfstandig en verantwoordelijk binnen de architectuurkaders kunnen werken.
• Automatiseren van de cloudomgeving met infrastructure as code en bijdragen aan een schaalbare landing zone met meer dan 150 accounts.
• Borgen van cloud security, IAM, SSO, federatie, compliance, governance, observability en costmanagement/FinOps.
• Opstellen en uitdragen van architectuurdocumentatie en een duidelijke IT- en architectuurvisie, zowel binnen als buiten het team.
• Onderhouden van de samenwerking met AWS en andere leveranciers en het optimaal benutten van hun expertise en dienstverlening voor NS.

Onze organisatie is continu in beweging. Daarom zoeken we een Solution Architect die niet alleen beschikt over een stevige basis aan kennis en ervaring, maar ook snel leert, nieuwe inzichten toepast en zich makkelijk aanpast aan veranderende situaties.

Hier ga je werken

Je werkt in het AWS-team van het Cloud Hosting Center of Excellence binnen de Centrale Platform Organisatie (CPO). Het team is het technische geweten van AWS binnen NS en heeft een hands-on en 24x7 operationeel karakter. Architecten en engineers werken samen aan een veilige cloudomgeving en ondersteunen applicatieteams bij het effectief gebruiken van AWS.

CPO levert IT-dienstverlening die het fundament vormt voor een wendbare IT-organisatie. Binnen het cluster Platform Hosting Services werk je aan hybride cloudoplossingen met AWS, Microsoft Azure en private cloud. Je werkt deels thuis en deels op het NS-hoofdkantoor, op loopafstand van Utrecht Centraal. We werken vakkundig, proactief en verbindend, met ruimte om elkaar uit te dagen en kennis te delen.

Dit zijn de functie-eisen

• Een afgeronde ICT-opleiding op hbo+/wo-niveau en minimaal vijf jaar relevante ervaring in een vergelijkbare architectuurrol.
• Minimaal twee jaar aantoonbare ervaring met het ontwerpen en inrichten van AWS-omgevingen, waaronder serverless componenten en geautomatiseerde landing zones met meer dan 150 accounts.
• De certificering AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional, bij voorkeur aangevuld met een specialisatie zoals AWS Security.
• Ruime kennis van hybride cloudconcepten, waaronder routing, firewalling en resolving, en ervaring met cloud security, compliance, governance, IAM, SSO en federatie.
• Ervaring met infrastructure as code, CI/CD tooling zoals Azure DevOps, Nexus en SonarQube, integraties met ServiceNow en SIEM, observability tooling zoals AWS-native tools en Datadog, en costmanagement/FinOps.
• Kennis van architectuurframeworks zoals TOGAF en modellering met ArchiMate. Je stelt heldere architectuurdocumenten op, deelt actuele kennis en stimuleert anderen om te leren.
• Sterke communicatieve en adviesvaardigheden in het Nederlands en Engels. Je schakelt makkelijk tussen technische en functionele gesprekspartners, creëert draagvlak en brengt mensen en teams samen.

Bij NS is ontwikkelvermogen een essentiële competentie. Voor deze rol ligt de nadruk op mental agility en change agility: je doorgrondt complexe vraagstukken snel, verbindt strategie aan technische details en past nieuwe inzichten toe in een veranderende cloudomgeving. Tijdens de selectieprocedure kan een assessment gericht op Learning Agility onderdeel zijn.

Over de vacature

Beschrijving

Een overtuigende architectuurplaat is snel gemaakt. Een AI-architectuur ontwerpen die door de securityreview komt, past in het bestaande IT-landschap en is ontworpen op flexibiliteit om ook op de lange termijn schaalbaar en kostenefficiënt te blijven, is een ander vak. Dat vak is jouw vak.

Als AI Architect bij PwC ontwerp je end-to-end oplossingen voor GenAI, RAG en agentic AI. Je verbindt data, cloud, integratie, security en governance tot een architectuur die niet alleen op papier klopt, maar ook in productie standhoudt.

Waar je terechtkomt

Binnen het Data & AI Consulting-team van PwC Nederland werk je aan complexe vraagstukken bij ministeries, uitvoeringsorganisaties, financiële instellingen en grote commerciële opdrachtgevers. Je vertaalt businessbehoeften naar robuuste architecturen waarin data, cloud, security, governance en AI-technologie samenkomen: GenAI-platformen, RAG-oplossingen, AI-agents, LLM-workflows en enterprise AI-oplossingen die passen binnen het bestaande IT- en datalandschap van de klant.

Belangrijk om te weten wat deze rol níet is. Je bent geen ivoren-toren-architect die een plaat oplevert en verdwijnt, en ook geen lead engineer die de implementatie op componentniveau voor zijn rekening neemt. Je blijft betrokken van ontwerp tot en met realisatie, je geeft richting aan engineers, je bent aanspreekbaar op de keuzes die je hebt gemaakt en je stelt je eigen ontwerp bij als de praktijk daar reden voor geeft. Je hoeft niet dagelijks code te schrijven, maar je spreekt de taal van de ontwikkelaars vloeiend. Je kunt technische ontwerpen en code doorgronden, technische keuzes inhoudelijk beoordelen en samen met engineers tot een beter ontwerp komen.

Dit ga je doen

Je bepaalt de technische richting en bewaakt de samenhang van ontwerp tot en met realisatie. Concreet:

• Je ontwerpt end-to-end AI-architecturen. Je vertaalt klantvragen naar solution architectures, integratieontwerpen en datastromen die passen binnen het bestaande IT- en datalandschap.
• Je maakt onderbouwde technologiekeuzes. Je bepaalt hoe modellen, RAG, agents, API’s, data- en cloudplatformen samenkomen, waarbij je modulariteit inbouwt voor toekomstige model-updates en de impact op haalbaarheid, beheer en TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) inzichtelijk maakt.
• Je definieert wat productiegeschikt betekent. Je stelt niet-functionele eisen vast voor security, privacy, schaalbaarheid, performance, observability, beheerbaarheid en Responsible AI.
• Je geeft richting tijdens de realisatie. Je werkt samen met enterprise architects, securityspecialisten en engineers, beoordeelt technische keuzes en stelt het ontwerp bij wanneer de praktijk daarom vraagt.
• Je maakt besluiten navolgbaar. Je legt belangrijke keuzes vast in architecture decision records, integratieontwerpen en security- en dataflowdiagrammen, zodat de oplossing ook op langere termijn beheersbaar blijft.

Waar je mee werkt

Onze stack varieert per klant en vraagstuk. Je hoeft niet iedere technologie zelf te implementeren. Wel kun je bepalen welke componenten passen, hoe ze samenhangen en welke gevolgen een keuze heeft voor security, schaalbaarheid, kosten en beheer.

Cloud en AI

Microsoft Foundry, Azure OpenAI en Azure AI Search. Afhankelijk van de klant werk je ook met Amazon Bedrock of Vertex AI. Azure is binnen onze opdrachten het meest gebruikte platform.

AI, data en integratie

GenAI, RAG en agentic AI, met technologieën zoals Microsoft Agent Framework, LangGraph en MCP. Je verbindt deze met dataplatformen zoals Databricks, Microsoft Fabric of Snowflake en met bestaande applicaties en API’s.

Platform, security en beheer

Docker, Kubernetes of Azure Container Apps, infrastructure as code en CI/CD. Je neemt identity, networking, observability, evaluatie, guardrails, auditability en kostenbeheersing vanaf het eerste ontwerp mee.

Werk je vooral in één cloud of architectuurdomein? Geen probleem. We zoeken diepgang, geen volledigheid. Belangrijker is dat je keuzes kunt onderbouwen en de gevolgen voor de klant op langere termijn overziet.

Onderscheidend als je het meebrengt

• Ervaring met architectuur in gereguleerde omgevingen: DNB, AFM, DORA, NIS2 of publieke inkoopkaders
• Kennis van de EU AI Act en van model risk management in de praktijk
• Ervaring met on-premise of hybride deployments voor gevoelige omgevingen
• Kostenmodellering (FinOps) voor AI: het inschatten en optimaliseren van token- en inferencekosten binnen een snel veranderende markt
• Ervaring met het opzetten van referentiearchitecturen of herbruikbare accelerators
• Relevante certificeringen zoals: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure AI Engineer, Databricks, TOGAF

Hier herken jij jezelf in

Je bent een ervaren solution architect, enterprise architect, senior engineer of technisch lead die verder kijkt dan losse modellen en pilots.

• Je hebt ruime ervaring met data-, software-, cloud- of AI-oplossingen en hebt meerdere complexe systemen van ontwerp naar productie zien gaan.
• Je hebt ervaring met solution architecture, enterprise architecture of technisch leiderschap en kunt end-to-end samenhang bewaken.
• Je begrijpt moderne AI-architecturen en hun productiecontext, waaronder LLM’s, RAG, agentic workflows, API’s, data- en cloudplatformen. Je hoeft niet ieder onderdeel zelf te implementeren.
• Je maakt complexe afwegingen begrijpelijk. Je weegt haalbaarheid, security, kosten, schaalbaarheid en onderhoudbaarheid en legt keuzes helder uit aan engineers en senior klantstakeholders.
• Je geeft richting door samenwerking. Je luistert naar verschillende perspectieven, beoordeelt technische keuzes inhoudelijk en helpt teams tot een gedragen en uitvoerbaar ontwerp te komen.

Je hebt hbo- of academisch niveau in een technische richting, of een gelijkwaardig niveau opgebouwd via ervaring. We kijken naar wat je hebt ontworpen en waargemaakt, niet naar je diploma. Je communiceert sterk in het Engels. Voor een deel van onze publieke opdrachten is Nederlands nodig.

Bijna niemand vinkt deze lijst volledig af, en dat verwachten we ook niet. Ervaring met alle genoemde technologieën is geen vereiste: belangrijker zijn een stevige technische basis, architectuurervaring en het vermogen om senior stakeholders mee te nemen. Herken je je in de kern van deze rol en breng je diepgang op een deel van het speelveld? Solliciteer dan.
