In deze rol ben je verantwoordelijk voor de dagelijkse organisatie van een machining-afdeling waar aluminium extrusieprofielen met behulp van geavanceerde CNC-bewerkingscentra uiterst nauwkeurig worden bewerkt. Je combineert leidinggeven met plannen, organiseren en continu verbeteren.

Over het bedrijf

Onze opdrachtgever is een specialist in aluminium precisie-extrusie. Vanuit de productielocatie in Venlo worden hoogwaardige aluminium profielen geproduceerd en bewerkt voor uiteenlopende toepassingen binnen onder andere de luchtvaart, automotive en hightechindustrie.

Binnen de machining-afdeling draait alles om kwaliteit, nauwkeurigheid en een efficiënt productieproces. Er wordt gewerkt met geavanceerde CNC-technologie en toleranties van slechts enkele honderdsten van millimeters. Samenwerking, vakmanschap en continu verbeteren staan centraal.

Over de functie

Als Assistant Manager Machining ben je verantwoordelijk voor de dagelijkse aansturing en organisatie van een team van circa 25 medewerkers. Je zorgt ervoor dat de productieplanning aansluit op de beschikbare capaciteit en dat werkorders efficiënt en volgens de gestelde doelstellingen worden uitgevoerd.

Je bent zichtbaar op de werkvloer, ondersteunt medewerkers bij dagelijkse uitdagingen en zorgt voor duidelijke afspraken en een goede overlegstructuur. Daarnaast werk je samen met betrokken collega's aan het verbeteren van processen, procedures en werkwijzen.

Je werkzaamheden bestaan onder andere uit:

• Aansturen, begeleiden en ontwikkelen van circa 25 medewerkers binnen de machining-afdeling.
• Coördineren van de dagelijkse productieactiviteiten en bewaken van de voortgang.
• Opstellen en bewaken van de afdelingsplanning, werkorders en capaciteitsverdeling.
• Signaleren en oplossen van knelpunten binnen het productieproces.
• Initiëren en implementeren van verbeteringen op het gebied van efficiëntie, kwaliteit en samenwerking.
• Zorgen voor een duidelijke overlegstructuur en goede communicatie binnen het team.
• Bijdragen aan het behalen van de productie- en afdelingsdoelstellingen.

Wie ben jij?

Je bent een praktische en resultaatgerichte leidinggevende die overzicht houdt, ook wanneer de productiedruk toeneemt. Je weet medewerkers mee te nemen in veranderingen en combineert een mensgerichte aanpak met duidelijke sturing.

Daarnaast beschik je over:

• Hbo-werk- en denkniveau, verkregen door opleiding en/of relevante werkervaring.
• Ervaring met het aansturen of begeleiden van medewerkers binnen een technische of productieomgeving.
• Goede organisatorische vaardigheden en ervaring met plannen en prioriteiten stellen.
• Een hands-on mentaliteit en een sterk probleemoplossend vermogen.
• Affiniteit met techniek, productieprocessen en procesoptimalisatie.

What you'll do

• Develop / optimize NC programs for multi-axis milling and mill-turn machines using advanced CAM software.
• Provide hands-on shop floor support to CNC operators, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues on the shop floor to maintain production quality and efficiency.
• Work closely with other departments to ensure that machining processes meet the required specifications and standards.
• Continuously improve machining processes and contribute to the development of best practices within the department.
• Utilize root cause analysis, preventative and corrective action to reduce / eliminate non-conformances.
• Develop / improve standard operation procedures (SOP).

Wie ben jij?

• Bachelor's in engineering (e.g. Engineering, Manufacturing Technology).
• 5 Years' experience in a hard metal manufacturing and a passion for precision, multi-axis machining.
• Proficient in using CATIA V5. Experience with TopSolid, Siemens NX CAM, Vericut, CrashGuard, Tooltech and TDM is an advantage.
• Strong ability to read and interpret Siemens NC code and Heidenhain.
• Extensive experience with on-machine probing.
• Experience and knowledge with hard metals;
• Proven experience with deep-hole drilling, mill-turning and turning techniques.
• Solid background in operating and programming CNC machines, with a deep understanding of multi-axis milling and mill-turn operations. Problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Good understanding of GD&T.
• Willingness to work flexible hours to support production activities.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with CNC operators and other team members.
