who are you

Bachelor or University degree in Financial Accounting, Finance or Business Economics;
1-3 years’ experience in RtR / General Ledger activities
Strong understanding of Accounting and Accounting Principles;
Excellent skills in Microsoft Excel;
Ability to build and maintain great working relationships with our local business partners;
Pro-active and self-starting, with a strong attention to detail in your work.

what will you do

In Financial Accounting, you contribute to the international business by the timely and accurate preparation and reporting of the monthly financial statements for one or more of the European DHL entities in accordance with accounting principles (IFRS) and corporate policies.

You are responsible for the preparation and follow up of several balance sheet accounts, including risk management according to DHL's general ledger guidelines;
You maintain the chart of accounts and you perform account-, sub ledger- and interface reconciliations;
You provide support for the analytical review (Balance sheet and Profit & Loss);
You prepare and process accruals and provisions, and you perform various month-end closing activities according to a month-end schedule;
You provide financial information to the local finance teams and to internal/external auditors.

wie ben jij

Jij bent een proactieve en analytisch sterke financial met:

een afgeronde hbo-opleiding in de richting Accountancy, Finance & Control of Bedrijfseconomie;
een post-hbo of post-master (AA, RA of RC) of je bent aantoonbaar bezig met een dergelijk traject;
3-5 jaar relevante werkervaring, bij voorkeur opgedaan in de accountancy;
grondige kennis van jaarrekeningprocessen, budgettering en managementrapportages;
uitstekende communicatieve vaardigheden en je bent gewend te adviseren op directieniveau.

wat ga je doen

In deze afwisselende rol ben je verantwoordelijk voor de financiële aansturing en rapporteer je rechtstreeks aan de Financieel Directeur. Je stuurt een klein team van collega’s aan en bent betrokken bij strategische besluitvorming. Je belangrijkste taken zijn:

het opzetten, bewaken en doorontwikkelen van interne controlemaatregelen en risicobeheersingsprocessen;
het identificeren en implementeren van verbeteringen in administratieve en financiële processen;
het coördineren van jaarrekeningtrajecten en fungeren als aanspreekpunt voor de externe accountant;
het analyseren van financiële data en het vertalen naar onderbouwde adviezen voor directie en management;
het opstellen van tijdige en accurate maand-, kwartaal- en jaarrapportages;
het beoordelen en doorrekenen van businesscases en investeringsvoorstellen.
