Als Solution Engineer verbeter je elke dag onze mechanisatieprocessen in het pakketpark. Je koppelt scherpe analyses aan slimme ideeën en vertaalt die naar oplossingen die ons magazijn future-proof maken. Dankzij jouw technische achtergrond weet je precies waar je moet zijn om grote impact te maken.Wat doe je als Solution Engineer bij Coolblue? Je werkt vanuit ons magazijn in Tilburg. Daar zoek je samen met collega’s continu naar manieren om processen slimmer te maken. Je bent de initiator naar grote veranderingen binnen het magazijn. Je analyseert bijvoorbeeld hoe dozen door het magazijn reizen, waar bottlenecks ontstaan en hoe we met minder menselijke handelingen meer gedaan krijgen. Je werkt veel samen met mechanisatie-engineers, procesbazen en leveranciers. Je onderzoekt data, bedenkt verbeteringen en vertaalt die naar plannen die echt werken. Zo maak je het magazijn elke dag een beetje beter. Dit vind je leuk om te doen Processen analyseren met data, bijvoorbeeld hoe we pakketten sneller kunnen sorteren of laden.Je begeleidt de uitwerking van nieuwe plannen met betrekking tot mechanisatie en automatisering in het warehouse.Marktontwikkelingen, zoals AGV’s of automatische opslagsystemen, analyseren en vertalen naar oplossingen.Technische plannen onderbouwen met cijfers en stakeholders overtuigen van je aanpak.Samenwerken met leveranciers en mechanisatiepartners aan innovatieve oplossingen.Werken aan de roadmap voor een nog flexibeler en toekomstbestendig magazijn. Hier herken jij jezelf in Je hebt een hbo- of wo-diploma in bijvoorbeeld Werktuigbouwkunde, Technische Bedrijfskunde of Mechatronica.Je hebt 3 tot 5 jaar ervaring met procesverbetering in een technische of logistieke omgeving.Je werkt nauwkeurig, houdt van analyseren en bent kritisch op je eigen conclusies.Je schakelt makkelijk tussen data, techniek en mensen en neemt graag initiatief.Je communiceert helder, ook als je iemand moet vertellen dat plan A toch plan B wordt. At the Mercedes-Benz Customer Assistance Center (CAC), we support customers across the globe. But behind the scenes, we are transforming into a data-first organization. We are looking for a Junior Data Scientist who doesn’t just "do data," but builds intelligent systems.

In this role, you won't just be analyzing the past; you will be building the future of customer interaction using LLMs, RAG architectures, and scalable data pipelines within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem.

who are you
We are looking for a proactive "self-starter" who thrives in a technical, fast-paced environment.

Your technical and personal toolkit:

• LLM & NLP Expertise: Deep understanding of embeddings, vector search, topic modeling, and RAG architectures. Experience with prompt engineering and orchestration frameworks (e.g., LangChain or LlamaIndex).
• Data Engineering: Proficiency in Azure Databricks, PySpark, and Spark SQL. You know how to ingest data from APIs, streams, and files into well-modeled data layers.
• Software Craftsmanship: Strong Python skills with an emphasis on modularity, Pydantic for data validation, and professional Git workflows.
• Agile Mindset: Comfortable working in an Agile or SAFe environment, taking full ownership of your tasks from conception to deployment.
• Communication: Transparent, proactive, and able to translate "tech-speak" into business value.
• Critical Thinking: You don't just execute; you ask "Why?" to ensure we deliver the best possible solution for the Mercedes-Benz customer.
• Language: Fluent in English (written and spoken).

what will you do
As part of the data science team, you will bridge the gap between advanced AI research and practical, scalable business solutions.

• Architecting Intelligence: You will design and build LLM-based solutions for information extraction, summarization, and conversational AI;
• Engineering Pipelines: You will develop scalable data pipelines in Azure Databricks using PySpark and Spark SQL, ensuring our data layers are optimized and robust;
• Coding Excellence: You write clean, modular Python code. You don’t just build "one-offs"; you build shared libraries and reusable components that make the whole team faster;
• AI-Assisted Development: You embrace the future by using Copilot and other AI assistants to accelerate your workflow while maintaining high standards for validation (Pydantic) and version control (Git/GitHub);
• Proactive Collaboration: You will act as a consultant to the business, explaining complex AI concepts to stakeholders and challenging requirements to ensure we solve the right problems.
