Overview

In this role you will serve as a key member of Axon's contracts and corporate team, advising on complex commercial transactions and helping scale legal support globally. You will partner with Sales, Supply Chain, Engineering, Product and IT to structure, negotiate, and optimize contracts for Axon's products and SaaS offerings. You will lead process improvements, templates and a contract lifecycle system, guiding risk analyses and compliance efforts. This position offers impactful work supporting a mission to Protect Life in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.

Verantwoordelijkheden

• Support EMEA sales and potentially other regions with contract negotiations for goods, services and SaaS solutions
• Structure, review and negotiate complex commercial contracts; provide risk-aware negotiation options
• Supervise Contracts Managers and enforce Axon risk standards
• Lead development and maintenance of contract templates, risk analyses, and policies; drive contract lifecycle management system implementation
• Develop and provide other legal advice including regulatory compliance and industry standards as needed
• Collaborate with attorneys, contracts managers and admin support; mentor and grow the team
• Travel up to 15%
• Work in-office 4x per week in Amsterdam

Belangrijkste vereisten

• 5+ years of experience negotiating and managing complex commercial contracts (in-house preferred)

• Ability to structure, draft and negotiate high-volume contracts for SaaS, hardware and services

• Knowledge of procurement laws and processes in EMEA (UK and EU)

• Location on the east coast

• Experience negotiating framework agreements

• Ability to act with urgency and drive results

• JD and active bar in at least one US state or authorization to practice in the UK or EU

• Experience designing, implementing, and administering contract lifecycle processes

• Familiarity with tools around the contract process (generative AI, Salesforce, CLMs, Microsoft Office)

You will be a trusted partner, translating complex legal matters into practical guidance while balancing business needs and risk. The role sits within a global legal team and emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, policy development, and the use of legal tech. You will shape commercial outcomes in a product-based, international environment and help protect Corbion's interests. Verantwoordelijkheden

• Act as a trusted legal business partner to various teams across EMEA and APAC, providing practical and commercially relevant legal advice
• Advise commercial and functional teams including Sales, Procurement, Operations and R&D
• Identify and assess legal risks and provide clear, solution-oriented advice aligned with Corbion's policies, standards and approval processes
• Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, including sales, distribution, agency, procurement, services, R&D, material transfer and confidentiality agreements
• Develop a strong understanding of Corbion's businesses and stakeholders to provide context-aware advice
• Collaborate with colleagues across Legal, Sales, Procurement, IP, Compliance, Regulatory Affairs, Finance, Quality, Supply and Operations
• Support the Senior Legal Counsel EMEA & APAC on claims, disputes and other legal matters
• Contribute to legal templates, policies, guidance and training across the organization
• Make effective use of legal technology and AI-enabled tools, applying professional judgment and critical review

Belangrijkste vereisten

• Bachelor's and Master's degree in Dutch law

• Minimum 3 years of post-graduate legal experience in private practice or in-house

• Strong knowledge of contract law and hands-on experience drafting and negotiating commercial agreements

• Experience in international manufacturing, ingredients, chemicals, food, life sciences, or product-based environments preferred

• Understanding of commercial realities surrounding production, purchase and sale of goods

• Strong judgment, priority-setting, and ability to see bigger picture across legal, commercial and operational factors

• Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder-management skills

• Ability to work independently and know when to involve senior or specialist colleagues

• Interest in AI and emerging legal technologies with thoughtful application

• Full professional fluency in English
