Functie
- Machine large and complex components on modern CNC milling machines
- Independently set up, operate and adjust CNC machines
- Read and interpret technical drawings and fixture plans
- Select, replace and maintain cutting tools
- Work with Fanuc, Heidenhain or Siemens controls
- Inspect finished parts and ensure they meet strict quality standards
- Produce small batches with a high level of accuracy
- Contribute to continuous improvements within the machining department
Functie-eisen
- MBO-level education or equivalent technical working and thinking level
- Proven experience as a CNC Milling Operator
- Experience with 5-axis CNC milling machines
- Experience with at least one of the following control systems: Fanuc, Heidenhain or Siemens
- Able to read technical drawings and fixture plans
- Good command of the English language
- Willing to work in a 3 to 5-shift rotation
- Accurate, quality-driven and able to work independently

As a skilled and experienced CNC Programmer CAM Engineer you will be responsible for creating NC programs for multi-axis milling and mill-turn machines, as well as providing essential shop floor support to CNC machine operators. This role is critical in ensuring the efficient and precise manufacturing of landing gear parts, and you will play a key role in solving machining problems as they arise.
What you'll do
- Develop / optimize NC programs for multi-axis milling and mill-turn machines using advanced CAM software.
- Provide hands-on shop floor support to CNC operators, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues on the shop floor to maintain production quality and efficiency.
- Work closely with other departments to ensure that machining processes meet the required specifications and standards.
- Continuously improve machining processes and contribute to the development of best practices within the department.
- Utilize root cause analysis, preventative and corrective action to reduce / eliminate non-conformances.
- Develop / improve standard operation procedures (SOP).
Wie ben jij?
- Bachelor's in engineering (e.g. Engineering, Manufacturing Technology).
- 5 Years' experience in a hard metal manufacturing and a passion for precision, multi-axis machining.
- Proficient in using CATIA V5. Experience with TopSolid, Siemens NX CAM, Vericut, CrashGuard, Tooltech and TDM is an advantage.
- Strong ability to read and interpret Siemens NC code and Heidenhain.
- Extensive experience with on-machine probing.
- Experience and knowledge with hard metals;
- Proven experience with deep-hole drilling, mill-turning and turning techniques.
- Solid background in operating and programming CNC machines, with a deep understanding of multi-axis milling and mill-turn operations. Problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Good understanding of GD&T.
- Willingness to work flexible hours to support production activities.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with CNC operators and other team members.

When you hear the name DAF Trucks, you might not immediately think of large machine parks. Yet, the engine factory consists largely of machining. As a CNC Operator, you perform machining operations on items. These include engine blocks, camshafts, and cylinder heads in Eindhoven. You will receive an excellent salary from the start, and benefit from a good shift allowance.

what will you do
As a CNC Operator, you start your workday within the impressive machine park of the engine factory. Depending on your shift (07:00-15:30, 15:30-00:00, or 00:00-07:00), you begin with a handover from your colleagues. Next, you get to work starting up and operating the machines and loading the programs. You are responsible for machining operations such as milling, turning, drilling, and grinding. In between, you change tools, resolve minor malfunctions, and perform quality checks using measuring tools. Together with your team, you ensure that the production process runs optimally.
