Het team werkt internationaal aan het ontwerp en de engineering van schepen en tijdelijke offshore structuren en combineert technische expertise met operationele praktijk. De werkzaamheden omvatten sterkteverificaties, globale hull analyses, lifting point verification en on bottom stability analyses en vinden plaats in nauwe samenwerking met projectteams, fabricagepartners en externe ontwerp- en verificatiebureaus. In Papendrecht is er aandacht voor zowel conceptontwikkeling als het detailleren van constructies en het begeleiden van fabricage en montage. De organisatie besteedt structureel aandacht aan kwaliteitsbewaking en aan het opstellen van basisontwerpen, design briefs en specificaties. Medewerkers krijgen toegang tot interne opleidingsprogramma's en trainingen voor vakinhoudelijke ontwikkeling en voor internationale inzet. De cultuur is multidisciplinair en gericht op veilige uitvoering en praktische toepasbaarheid van ontwerpen. Functie-inhoud:

• Als Structureel Ingenieur ben je verantwoordelijk voor
• De Structureel Ingenieur voert sterkteverificaties en ontwerpen uit voor schepen en tijdelijke offshore structuren zoals jackets en topsides
• Je ondersteunt projecten met technisch advies en je stelt Basis of Design en Design Briefs op
• Je ontwikkelt concepten en adviseert over de meest geschikte oplossingen voor offshore uitdagingen
• Als Structureel Ingenieur controleer je tekeningen en initieer je goede engineeringpraktijken en standaarden
• Je begeleidt de constructiefase en fungeert als aanspreekpunt tijdens bouw en fabricage
• Je stuurt ontwerp- en verificatiewerkzaamheden bij externe engineeringbureaus aan en begeleidt Medior en Junior Engineers

Functie-eisen:

• MSc of BSc in Maritieme Techniek, Werktuigbouwkunde, Luchtvaarttechniek of Civiele Techniek
• Minimaal 6 jaar relevante ervaring in offshore engineering
• Praktische offshore ervaring is een pré
• Ervaring met minimaal 2 FEA-pakketten bij voorkeur ANSYS, FEMAP, SACS en Mathcad
• Goede beheersing van Engels in woord en geschrift en kennis van class rules zoals LR, BV, ABS, DNV, API en DNVGL

As a Manufacturing Engineer (Product & Planning), you will be a crucial member of an Integrated Product Team (IPT), ensuring smooth operational deliveries. You will be responsible for analyzing production characteristics, managing Level 1 (L1) non-conformities, defining temporary production instructions, and preparing dispositions for Level 2 (L2) non-conformities. Your goal? Advancing to a Non-Conformity (NC) approver role while continuously improving production processes.

Your responsibilities

• Develop technical solutions to complex problems, ensuring compliance with GKN Aerospace Health, Safety, and Environmental policies.
• Provide technical support for manufacturing development and integration for production.
• Resolve issues related to vendor schedules and quality.
• Utilize root cause analysis, preventative and corrective actions to reduce non-conformities.
• Oversee the implementation of tooling and production planning using Zero Defect Manufacturing (ZDM) methodologies.
• Manage product development, first article development, configuration changes, and build process implementation.
• Deliver measurable, results-driven improvements aligned with Operational & Program goals.
• Foster strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Continuously improve production processes by implementing Lean initiatives.

Wie ben jij?

• Experience in product/process introduction (industrialization) and production process improvements.
• 3 to 7 years experience in Manufacturing Engineering.
• A degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Automotive, or related field).
• Strong influencing and relationship-building skills within a global organization.
• Working knowledge of LEAN processes and quality systems (ISO9000, AS9100, or D1-9000).
• Excellent documentation and reporting skills.
• Knowledge and experience with hard metals;
• Familiarity with machining processes (milling, mill-turn, boring, honing) and/or surface treatment processes (heat treatment, plating, shot-peen, NDI) is a strict requirement.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken).

Preferred

• Strong influencing and relationship-building skills within a global organization.
• Working knowledge of LEAN processes and quality systems (ISO9000, AS9100).
