Als mechanical engineer (constructeur WTB) draag je bij aan het ontwerpen, berekenen en uitwerken van technische oplossingen voor complexe machines en (las)constructies. Je werkt in een klein en praktisch team waar samenwerking en innovatie centraal staan. Met jouw technische expertise en oog voor detail zorg je ervoor dat onze maatwerkoplossingen volledig aansluiten op de wensen van onze klanten. Je schakelt regelmatig met productie en constructie om ontwerpen tot leven te brengen en hebt een scherp oog voor haalbaarheid en maakbaarheid.

Wat je gaat doen:

• Ontwerpen: complexe machines en (las)constructies uitwerken en optimaliseren.
• Tekenen: technische tekeningen maken en gedetailleerd uitwerken.
• Analyseren: haalbaarheid, maakbaarheid en constructiesterkte beoordelen.
• Calculeren: kostenberekeningen en technische analyses uitvoeren (1 dag per week).
• Samenwerken: afstemmen met productie en constructie om ontwerpen te realiseren.

• HBO-diploma Werktuigbouwkunde of vergelijkbaar niveau.
• Minimaal 8 jaar ervaring in engineering en machinebouw.
• Kennis van machines, techniek en hydrauliek.
• Ervaring met ontwerpen en berekenen van complexe constructies.
• Teamspeler met oog voor maakbaarheid en technische details.

Als mechanical engineer (constructeur WTB) draag je bij aan het ontwerpen en ontwikkelen van innovatieve maatwerkmachines en constructies. Je werkt aan uitdagende projecten waarbij je jouw kennis van werktuigbouwkunde, hydrauliek en constructiesterkte inzet om technische oplossingen te realiseren die zowel functioneel als maakbaar zijn. Binnen een klein en hecht team werk je nauw samen met productie en constructie om de kwaliteit en haalbaarheid van de ontwerpen te waarborgen. Jouw rol vraagt om een analytische aanpak, oog voor detail en een praktische instelling.

Wat je gaat doen:

• ontwerpen: complexe machines en (las)constructies ontwikkelen en uitwerken tot gedetailleerde technische tekeningen.
• beoordelen: de maakbaarheid en constructiesterkte van ontwerpen toetsen aan technische en praktische eisen.
• berekenen: technische berekeningen en kostenramingen opstellen ter ondersteuning van het ontwerp.
• samenwerken: regelmatig afstemmen met productie en constructie om ontwerpen te optimaliseren en te realiseren.
• verbeteren: meedenken over procesoptimalisaties en technische innovaties binnen projecten.

As a Manufacturing Engineer (Product & Planning), you will be a crucial member of an Integrated Product Team (IPT), ensuring smooth operational deliveries. You will be responsible for analyzing production characteristics, managing Level 1 (L1) non-conformities, defining temporary production instructions, and preparing dispositions for Level 2 (L2) non-conformities. Your goal? Advancing to a Non-Conformity (NC) approver role while continuously improving production processes.

Your responsibilities

• Develop technical solutions to complex problems, ensuring compliance with GKN Aerospace Health, Safety, and Environmental policies.
• Provide technical support for manufacturing development and integration for production.
• Resolve issues related to vendor schedules and quality.
• Utilize root cause analysis, preventative and corrective actions to reduce non-conformities.
• Oversee the implementation of tooling and production planning using Zero Defect Manufacturing (ZDM) methodologies.
• Manage product development, first article development, configuration changes, and build process implementation.
• Deliver measurable, results-driven improvements aligned with Operational & Program goals.
• Foster strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Continuously improve production processes by implementing Lean initiatives.

Wie ben jij?

• Experience in product/process introduction (industrialization) and production process improvements.
• 3 to 7 years experience in Manufacturing Engineering.
• A degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Automotive, or related field).
• Strong influencing and relationship-building skills within a global organization.
• Working knowledge of LEAN processes and quality systems (ISO9000, AS9100, or D1-9000).
• Excellent documentation and reporting skills.
• Knowledge and experience with hard metals;
• Familiarity with machining processes (milling, mill-turn, boring, honing) and/or surface treatment processes (heat treatment, plating, shot-peen, NDI) is a strict requirement.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken).

Preferred

• Strong influencing and relationship-building skills within a global organization.
