Overview

In this role you will shape and defend Ahold Delhaize's position on political, societal, and regulatory matters. You collaborate with a cross-functional Public Affairs team to engage policymakers and industry groups, monitor developments, and translate policy into actionable strategies. You drive PA initiatives that align with business goals, maintaining strong stakeholder relationships and representing the company in policy discussions. This is a strategic, fast-paced role with cross-brand opportunities and international impact.

Verantwoordelijkheden

• Advise on public affairs related to government, politics, regulators, and stakeholders
• Support and execute Public Affairs strategy
• Identify developments and communicate Ahold Delhaize's positions and strategies
• Analyze policies and develop PA strategies
• Draft position papers and letters for politicians and stakeholders
• Monitor political and societal developments affecting strategy and reputation
• Represent the company in policy discussions in the Netherlands
• Provide strategic policy advice to senior leadership and engage stakeholders internally and externally
• Organize meetings and visits for politicians, government officials or stakeholders
• Position the company as a trusted partner internally and externally

Belangrijkste vereisten

• At least 5 years of Public Affairs experience in the Dutch Parliament or government

• Strong network within politics, government, and stakeholder organizations

• Experience in lobbying and policy influencing at national and EU levels

• Excellent written and verbal communication in English and Dutch

• Strong strategic thinking and ability to translate policy issues into clear messages

• Proactive, entrepreneurial, results-driven mindset
