Overview

As a Principal Consultant in the Resilient Economies team, you will lead and grow Ecorys Netherlands' research, consulting, and evaluation capabilities across the EU. You will oversee major projects in energy transition, circular economy, and advisory services, while steering acquisitions and consortium formation. Your role blends project delivery with business development to drive profitable growth. You will engage with partners, universities, and public sector clients to deliver high-impact solutions that advance sustainable economies.

Verantwoordelijkheden

• Lead strategic green transition projects (energy, circular economy, advisory) across evaluations, studies, impact assessment, and technical assistance, balancing delivery and acquisitions.
• Drive acquisition and account management, developing existing markets and creating new opportunities across the portfolio.
• Strengthen strategic partnerships and expand the pool of associates through cross-office collaboration.
• Support capacity and expertise development internally and externally.
• Ensure financial delivery and profitability targets for the Resilient Economies portfolio, monitoring project performance and adherence to commercial guidance.

Belangrijkste vereisten

• Bachelor's degree in Economics, Energy, Environment, or European studies

• Min 10 years of experience in leading acquisitions and winning work (EU Commission, EC services, etc.)

• Proven experience in energy transition, circular economy, or sustainability projects with value EUR 1.5 million

• Project management experience in the EU and at least 5 member states in the last 10 years

• Track record of delivering and winning contracts with EU institutional clients ( EUR 800k)

• Experience coordinating inputs under matrix management and leading diverse teams

• Proven ability to lead consultancy and research services for public sector clients in greening sectors and energy transition

• Strong written and analytical capacity
