Overview

In this role you own the company's shift from batch-first to streaming-first, focusing on real-time data infrastructure built on Kafka and Flink. You will lead the design, deployment, and evolution of a central streaming platform that powers network telemetry, security, analytics and IoT, collaborating with cross-functional teams and C-level stakeholders. You will shape architecture, drive scalable, reliable streaming solutions, and deliver business value through data-driven insights and automation.

Verantwoordelijkheden

• Define and execute the streaming strategy at enterprise scale
• Lead and grow the streaming platform team; influence at C-level
• Oversee Kafka/Flink-based platform architecture, topic design, and schema governance
• Ensure operational reliability, observability, and exactly-once semantics for streaming pipelines
• Drive vendor/integrator relationships and manage delivery of streaming initiatives
• Align streaming initiatives with business outcomes in network ops, security, and AI
• Foster architectural patterns for event-driven microservices and API design
• Champion migration from batch to streaming and ensure cross-functional adoption

Belangrijkste vereisten

• 10+ years in data/platform/software engineering

• 3-5 years in a leadership role

• Deep Apache Kafka expertise (architecture, operations, schema governance, ecosystem)

• Hands-on Apache Flink or equivalent stream processing

• Telco or large-scale enterprise experience (OSS/BSS, network data)

• Proven track record building/scaling central streaming platforms

• Strong architectural thinking (event-driven, microservices, integration patterns)

• Cloud & containers (AWS/Azure/GCP, Kubernetes, CI/CD)

• Excellent stakeholder management and communication (C-level to engineering)

• Stakeholder management

• Clear communication of technical concepts to business stakeholders

• Strategic thinking and influence at senior levels

• Apache Kafka (architecture, scalability, topic design, schema governance, exactly-once)

• Apache Flink (stream processing)

• Kafka Connect, Schema Registry
