Overview

As Head of Risk, you will lead the development and operation of risk management, privacy and internal audit across an international retail group. You will shape the risk strategy and roadmap, supervise the internal control framework, and report to senior governance bodies. You will drive remediation, risk assessment cycles, and privacy compliance to protect business value. This role offers the opportunity to influence risk ownership at scale and partner with cross-functional teams to embed governance and resilience.

• Annual bonus 35% and long-term incentive 100% vesting after 3 years

• Salary paid every four weeks

Verantwoordelijkheden

• Develop risk management policies, procedures and charters; create and maintain the risk strategy and roadmap
• Manage internal control framework and control self-assessment processes; deliver reporting to top governance bodies
• Ensure remediation of control design/execution gaps in collaboration with senior management
• Conduct annual company risk assessments and monitor emerging risks continuously
• Develop internal audit charter, methodology, plan and oversee audits (including outsourcing where applicable)
• Discuss audit findings with Directors and Executive Board; oversee follow-up actions
• Oversee privacy program: policies, guidelines, data protection compliance and incident handling
• Direct data protection risk awareness training and maintain privacy procedures and processing registers
• Support career development for team members and ensure suitable applications support risk, audit and privacy processes

Belangrijkste vereisten

• Master in Economics

• 15 years of experience in risk management and/or internal audit

• Strong understanding of risk management and internal control standards

• Ability to apply standards to business outcomes and praktische implementation

• Experience with risk management, internal control, internal audit and privacy compliance systems

• Retail sector experience preferred

• Fluency in English (speaking and writing)

• Analytical mindset with ability to align objectives to strategy

• Hands-on, practical and strong communication/presentation skills

• Integrity and constructive critical thinking

• Deployment of risk management, internal control, internal audit and privacy compliance systems

• Knowledge of data protection regulations (GDPR) and privacy impact assessments

• Experience with control testing and external audits
