At GS Staalwerken, you work on impressive steel structures every day. From large components for industrial buildings to custom-made steel structures: no two days are the same!

You start your day by reviewing the technical drawings and the components scheduled for production. Then you get to work with MIG/MAG welding. You ensure that all components are securely and accurately welded together and that every weld meets the required quality standards.

In addition to welding, you neatly finish the structures. You grind weld seams and sharp edges, clean components and use the overhead crane to safely move heavy materials. Of course, you make sure that your tools and workplace remain clean and safe.

You have a lot of independence, but you are never on your own. Together with your colleagues and the workshop supervisor, you ensure that every structure is completed according to the drawings and on time.

Specifically: 55% welding steel structures 20% grinding weld seams and sharp edges 10% cleaning welded components 5% operating the overhead crane 5% consulting with the workshop supervisor 5% maintaining tools and machinery.

Education & Technical Knowledge

• You have a MIG/MAG welding qualification at a minimum of Level 2;
• You are willing to further develop your welding skills and achieve Level 3;
• You have knowledge of standard tack welding and welding techniques;
• You have knowledge of how to operate and use various machines and tools;
• You have an interest in the steel industry and working on steel structures;
• An overhead crane operator certificate is an advantage;
• You are proficient in Dutch or English.

You will be working for GS Staalwerken in Helmond. This company specialises in the construction of high-quality steel structures. They handle the entire process, from engineering and production right through to final assembly.
