what will you do
As an assembly worker, you build farming machines directly on the assembly line. You work in a small team. Together, you build one of our eight types of machines from start to finish. You do different types of mechanical work using a technical drawing. It is very important that you can read these drawings and know how to use tools. We will look together at which place on the line fits you best.

where will you work
Kuhn is a world leader in farming machines. You build machines like balers, wrappers, and mowers. It is okay if you don’t know these machines yet. what will you do
This department focuses on sub component assembly. As an assembly Technician you will cable all components inside and on the magnet. You have to follow the work instructions carefully. The magnet is also fitted with a housing. Then the final product goes to storage. Work is done all around and on top of the magnet. This is quite a physical challenge. Two or three employees work together simultaneously to finish the product.

where will you work
Philips Healthcare in Best develops and sells medical equipment. This includes MRI machines, IGT systems, DXR machines, and Grids. Their main customers are hospitals and medical specialists. You will join a small, informal team. The team consists of technicians, troubleshooters, spinners, and testers. The atmosphere in the team in which you will be working as an assembly technician is social and collegial.

Who you are

Do you already have experience as assembly worker ? You are also:

• • Being able to work under high pressure (in connection with the takt times, the belt continues to rotate), about 4 minutes per truck.
• • Can work in shifts from 07.00 to 15.30 and from 15.30 to 00.00.
• • Reliable in attendance and can be easily reached (by phone).
• • Speaks the English language fluently
• • You must be able to read a work instruction well in order to assemble the right materials onto the chassis.

What will you do
As an assembly worker at DAF, you play a crucial role in the logistics process. After thorough, full-time, and paid training, you will be further trained at your workstation by an experienced colleague.
Working at DAF means you have to work in a team. When you start working in a team at DAF, you remain in this team and it is not possible for you to work in another team.

Within the team there are a number of workstations, within which you will rotate. In the beginning, the work can be very monotonous/repeating, since you are not yet trained at all workstations. The longer you work there, the greater the chance that there will be more variety. The team size varies, but usually it comes down to 15 to 20 employees per shift.

You must take into account that it is physically very heavy, whereby you get muscle pain. This can be muscle pain in your hands, arms and legs. In addition, some teams require you to hang over the chassis, which can be hard on your back. Furthermore, you are constantly standing.

You will have two breaks in an 8-hour shift (a half-hour break and a 15-minute break). The half hour break, you will not get paid.
Overtime is the hours worked in addition to the timetable by the supervisor (all hours worked in excess of the 8 hours are overtime hours).
For the first 2 overtime hours: + 23.2%.
For the other overtime periods (> 2 hours overtime): + 37.6%
Saturday overtime addition = + 65%
Sunday overtime addition = + 84%

Where will you work
The Paccar Distribution Center (PDC) is the largest DAF Trucks distribution center worldwide. The PDC supplies DAF dealers directly in the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, and France. In addition, it supplies other European PDCs on a daily basis.
To guarantee fast delivery of the right parts, the distribution center uses advanced logistics systems. One of these systems is voice-activated picking orders and assembly .

A ''pendelweek'' at DAF means the salary will be paid on wednesday (instead of the regular monday). So the employee will receive his or her salary on thursday or friday.

Day one = introduction at DAF, receiving company clothes, getting BSN
Day two = starting the job + DAF training
In the summer the company is closed from week 30,31,32. There is no work in the factory at that moment.

• The axles and cabins are made in Westerlo (another factory in Belgium) and transported to DAF Eindhoven on a daily basis. DAF will produce 240 trucks every day!
