Here, it’s essential to place each package on the belt. This can be physically demanding as each package varies in size and weight. You will also need to work at a steady pace, as there are a lot of packages to be sorted daily.
You may already know PostNL and have seen their delivery workers at your door. Now, you can see what goes on behind the scenes! How does a package get from A to B? It sounds simple, but there’s a lot more to it. Want to learn everything as a warehouse worker? Then this is your chance! Our team leaders are happy to explain how everything works. PostNL Zaltbommel is a transfer and storage location, also known as a cross-dock, not a sorting center. A lot of trucks come to the depot; some arrive to unload roll containers, while others come to load them. So, what exactly does a logistic employee do at PostNL Zaltbommel? As a transfer and storage location for PostNL, you will be working with your colleagues to load and unload trucks. Drivers come and go throughout the day. You will help them by unloading roll containers and placing them in the correct storage areas. You will do this at a steady pace, allowing the drivers to get back on the road quickly. If an empty truck arrives, you will help with loading, ensuring the correct containers go with the driver. Since trucks arrive at various times, your work operates on a rotating shift schedule.
As a logistic employee, you will be part of an international team. Together you will ensure each driver sends the correct roll containers out. Drivers come and go frequently, and team leaders are open to your ideas if you see ways to improve the process. The process manager and (assistant) team leaders are also from the Tempo Team.
