Maintenance & Service Team Leader Would you like to lead a technical team while still staying closely involved with the technology yourself? Join SSI SCHÄFER as a Maintenance & Service Team Leader. You will work at PRIMARK®’s distribution centre in Roosendaal, which covers more than 30,000 m². Here, you will work with automated cranes, AGVs, a monorail system, pallet conveyor systems and almost 500 Flexi Shuttles. You will coordinate the daily maintenance activities, lead your team and work together with your colleagues to keep all systems running smoothly. Curious to find out more? Read on. What will you be doing? You will make sure that the technical logistics process within the distribution centre continues to run smoothly. You will lead a team of five employees, coaching and supporting them while acting as the main point of contact for day-to-day activities. At the same time, you will remain hands-on with the technology, working with systems such as automated pallet cranes, AGVs, sensors, scanners, weighing systems, roller conveyors, conveyors and shuttles. You will regularly coordinate with PRIMARK®, logistics partner GXO and your colleagues to ensure that activities and processes are properly aligned. You will also prepare reports for handovers to other shifts and your manager. These reports cover topics such as the technical condition of the systems, completed maintenance work and maintenance planning. Together with your team, you will also look for ways to improve the technical process. Do you see opportunities to make activities or processes more efficient? You will discuss these with your manager and colleagues. No two working days are the same: one day the focus may be on preventive maintenance, while the next an unexpected breakdown may require your immediate attention. What we offer As a Maintenance & Service Team Leader, you will have a leadership role that combines technology, maintenance and employee development. You will work with modern automated systems, make independent decisions and support your team in developing their skills and expertise. We offer: a permanent employment contract; a gross monthly salary between €4,200 and €4,700, depending on your experience and education; a 30% shift allowance on top of your salary; a full-time position in a five-shift system, averaging 34 working hours per week due to the shift schedule, excluding a number of additional scheduled attendance days; a travel allowance of €0.23 per kilometre, up to a maximum commuting distance of 50 km each way; 27 days of annual leave, a PME pension scheme and employment conditions in accordance with the Metalektro Collective Labour Agreement; an extensive onboarding programme, including training on the various systems and installations. What you bring You have a secondary vocational education (MBO) level of working and thinking; you have at least five years of work experience in a technical environment; you are able to coach, support and motivate employees; you are approachable and can communicate effectively with employees, managers, the customer and other stakeholders; you have a good command of both Dutch and English; certificates such as VCA, RAMS, Low Voltage or NEN 3140 would be an advantage. Summary of the role The Associate Commercial Lab Engineer supports safe, effective, and efficient testing activities in the European demonstration center. Role and Responsibilities Support customer tests and demonstrations in the European demonstration center, under supervision. Assist with preparation, setup, operation, and clean-up of lab equipment for defined test scenarios. Follow established safety procedures and laboratory standards when working with equipment, materials, hand tools, power tools, and electrical systems. Document test conditions, observations, results, equipment settings, and relevant technical details accurately and consistently. Coordinate with senior colleagues, engineering, sales, and application specialists to understand test objectives and priorities. Help maintain the lab in a clean, organized, safe, and audit-ready condition. Execute basic maintenance tasks on the lab and demo equipment. Conduct basic training sessions for both internal teams and external customers Assist with tracking lab supplies, consumables, tools, and equipment readiness, escalating needs for replenishment or maintenance. Contribute to basic troubleshooting and problem-solving during tests, escalating complex issues as appropriate. Develop product and application knowledge across relevant Nordson ICS product lines. Support preparation of test summaries, customer-facing information, and internal updates as requested. Skills and Qualifications Associate degree, bachelor’s degree, vocational qualification, or equivalent technical training in engineering, mechatronics, electrical, mechanical, industrial, or a related technical discipline preferred. 0–2 years of experience in a technical, laboratory, manufacturing, service, engineering, or customer-support environment. Strong attention to detail with the ability to document technical information accurately and consistently. Good communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and customer-facing personnel. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Analytical mindset with basic problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn new technologies, products, and applications. English language skills required; German or additional European language skills are considered an advantage. Exposure to automation, electrical systems, robot programming, or powder finishing applications is beneficial but not required. Travel Occasional travel within Europe may be required to support customer demonstrations, training activities, and business needs.
