As a logistics employee at DPD in Joure, you’ll be working with packages. All the packages need to be sorted properly so that they’re sent in the right direction. How do we do that? Let me explain! The packages come in with our trucks, and it’s your job, along with your colleagues, to unload them. After that, you’ll take all the rolling containers to the right spot. A team of colleagues will be there to place the packages on the conveyor belt. After a smooth journey on the belt, they’ll reach the sorting department, where the packages are sorted by postcode. Sounds simple, but don’t be fooled! You’ll need to stay sharp. Can you spot the difference between 5665 and 5656 in just a few seconds? Also, the packages can weigh up to 25 kg. Think of it as a workout, and you’re getting paid for it! Once all the packages are sorted, your shift is done!
You’ll be working at DPD in Joure, one of the friendliest cities in Friesland. Or as they say in Frisian: ‘de moaiste stêd fan Fryslân’ (the most beautiful city in Friesland). Sorting packages! That’s in a nutshell what you’ll be doing as a logistics employee. On a daily basis we get a lot of trucks that arrive at the warehouse of DPD Veenendaal. These trucks get unloaded by hand. You put every package on a big assembly line by hand. Then the packages get scanned and sorted automatically. At the end of the assembly line the packages only need to be put on the right container. That’s all! It’s not a difficult job, but it can be a heavy job!
At DPD Veenendaal you will join a nice international team. There is an informal atmosphere in the warehouse. Maybe your next best friend is already working there?!
