who are you

Since our warehouse handles fresh produce, it's important that you're cold-resistant; we'll provide you with warm workwear. Physical work isn't an obstacle for you. You're also flexible and available to work 40 hours per week in two shifts.

To work as an order picker, it's important that you meet the following requirements:

  • You are 18 years or older;
  • You speak Dutch or English;
  • You are willing to work in a cool environment or freezer;

what will you do

As an order picker, you use a voice picking system to assemble orders. You receive instructions via a headset about which products to collect. Subsequently, you place these products onto a roll container and move it using an order picking truck. All products in the warehouse are fresh and must remain chilled, with a maximum temperature of 7 degrees Celsius. In the freezer/cold room itself, the temperature is even below 0 degrees. Because you work in the cold, you receive a nice extra allowance on top of your salary.

As an order picker at Bidfood, a leading wholesaler with 1,700 employees and an excellent work environment, you'll play a crucial role in supplying 25,000 customers. After changing and clocking in at our Schiedam location, you'll work in dry storage (17°C), refrigeration (4°C), or freezer (-18°C) using a voice picking system. Your shift usually ends around midnight (with an extension until 1:00 AM during peak hours), with a break in our well-maintained canteen. Your efforts will be rewarded with a competitive salary and substantial bonuses: for evening hours, you'll receive a 25% (until 10:00 PM) or 50% (after 10:00 PM) bonus, supplemented by a cooling bonus of €0.53 per hour for refrigeration or €1.22 per hour for freezer work.

During the open hiring at DSV, we will take you into the workplace. As an allround warehouse employee you will do a lot of order picking on an EPT. what will you do

You will work as an order picker or packer in this automated warehouse. As an order picker you will work at your 'order picking station'. About 200 order picking robots are going around in this warehouse. The robot picks a box for you from the racks, brings it to your order pick station, then you pick the number of products from the box that you need! The robot goes back to the picking location and the next robot is already waiting for you with a new box! Order complete? Then you press a button and the conveyor belt brings the box to the packers. As a packer you check the order, add the packing slip and put the right address sticker on the box. Ready for shipment!
