Business Application Specialist

VB-Airsuspension in Varsseveld ontwikkelt en produceert innovatieve (lucht)veersystemen voor de automotive-industrie. Als Business Application Specialist maak je deel uit van ons IT-team op het hoofdkantoor. Je zorgt ervoor dat onze bedrijfsapplicaties betrouwbaar functioneren, goed aansluiten op de dagelijkse praktijk en blijven meegroeien met de organisatie. Daarmee help je collega's in binnen- en buitenland efficiënter te werken in een persoonlijk, betrokken en informeel bedrijf.
Jouw belangrijkste taken:
- Zorgen dat bedrijfsapplicaties betrouwbaar functioneren en meegroeien met de behoeften van de organisatie.
- Begeleiden van gebruikers bij veranderingen en, samen met de Teamleider ICT, opstellen van voorstellen voor training en kennisontwikkeling.
- Regelmatig afstemmen met collega's, leveranciers en andere VB-vestigingen over de werking, continuïteit en verdere ontwikkeling van applicaties.
- Vooruitdenken over IT-oplossingen die de processen en de organisatie structureel verder helpen.
Wat wordt er van jou gevraagd?
- Kennis van functioneel en technisch applicatiebeheer, waaronder incidentafhandeling, testen, updates en releases.
- Je combineert een analytisch denkvermogen met een praktische en servicegerichte instelling.
- Je schakelt gemakkelijk tussen verschillende gebruikers en vraagstukken en weet het overzicht te behouden wanneer het druk is.
- Je communiceert duidelijk met gebruikers, collega's en leveranciers en beheerst de Nederlandse en Engelse taal goed.
Wat biedt VB-Airsuspension?
- Een dienstverband van 32 tot 40 uur per week.
- Een bruto maandsalaris tussen € 3.664 en € 4.264 (bij een fulltime dienstverband), conform de cao Metaal en Techniek.
- 25 vakantiedagen en 13 adv-dagen (op basis van een 40-urige werkweek).

Summary of the role
The Associate Commercial Lab Engineer supports safe, effective, and efficient testing activities in the European demonstration center. Working under the guidance of senior lab engineering, sales, or business development colleagues, this role assists with equipment setup, test execution, documentation, lab organization, and preparation of customer demonstrations. This position is ideal for an early-career technical professional looking to develop product, application, and customer-facing skills while contributing to commercial opportunities and laboratory excellence across the European sales organization.

Role and Responsibilities
- Support customer tests and demonstrations in the European demonstration center, under supervision.
- Assist with preparation, setup, operation, and clean-up of lab equipment for defined test scenarios.
- Follow established safety procedures and laboratory standards when working with equipment, materials, hand tools, power tools, and electrical systems.
- Document test conditions, observations, results, equipment settings, and relevant technical details accurately and consistently.
- Coordinate with senior colleagues, engineering, sales, and application specialists to understand test objectives and priorities.
- Help maintain the lab in a clean, organized, safe, and audit-ready condition.
- Execute basic maintenance tasks on the lab and demo equipment.
- Conduct basic training sessions for both internal teams and external customers
- Assist with tracking lab supplies, consumables, tools, and equipment readiness, escalating needs for replenishment or maintenance.
- Contribute to basic troubleshooting and problem-solving during tests, escalating complex issues as appropriate.
- Develop product and application knowledge across relevant Nordson ICS product lines.
- Support preparation of test summaries, customer-facing information, and internal updates as requested.
Skills and Qualifications
- Associate degree, bachelor’s degree, vocational qualification, or equivalent technical training in engineering, mechatronics, electrical, mechanical, industrial, or a related technical discipline preferred.
- 0–2 years of experience in a technical, laboratory, manufacturing, service, engineering, or customer-support environment.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to document technical information accurately and consistently.
- Good communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and customer-facing personnel.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Analytical mindset with basic problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn new technologies, products, and applications.
- English language skills required; German or additional European language skills are considered an advantage.
- Exposure to automation, electrical systems, robot programming, or powder finishing applications is beneficial but not required.
Travel
- Occasional travel within Europe may be required to support customer demonstrations, training activities, and business needs.

Over de functie
As a skilled and experienced CNC Programmer CAM Engineer you will be responsible for creating NC programs for multi-axis milling and mill-turn machines, as well as providing essential shop floor support to CNC machine operators. This role is critical in ensuring the efficient and precise manufacturing of landing gear parts, and you will play a key role in solving machining problems as they arise.
What you'll do
- Develop / optimize NC programs for multi-axis milling and mill-turn machines using advanced CAM software.
- Provide hands-on shop floor support to CNC operators, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues on the shop floor to maintain production quality and efficiency.
- Work closely with other departments to ensure that machining processes meet the required specifications and standards.
- Continuously improve machining processes and contribute to the development of best practices within the department.
- Utilize root cause analysis, preventative and corrective action to reduce / eliminate non-conformances.
- Develop / improve standard operation procedures (SOP).
Wie ben jij?
- Bachelor's in engineering (e.g. Engineering, Manufacturing Technology).
- 5 Years' experience in a hard metal manufacturing and a passion for precision, multi-axis machining.
- Proficient in using CATIA V5. Experience with TopSolid, Siemens NX CAM, Vericut, CrashGuard, Tooltech and TDM is an advantage.
- Strong ability to read and interpret Siemens NC code and Heidenhain.
- Extensive experience with on-machine probing.
- Experience and knowledge with hard metals;
- Proven experience with deep-hole drilling, mill-turning and turning techniques.
- Solid background in operating and programming CNC machines, with a deep understanding of multi-axis milling and mill-turn operations. Problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Good understanding of GD&T.
- Willingness to work flexible hours to support production activities.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with CNC operators and other team members.
