In this workplace, production workers operate as a team responsible for supplying, operating, and restocking the metal presses, as well as managing the entire pre- and post-treatment process in the DAF Trucks paint shop.

what will you do
Do you like to roll up your sleeves and work in a close-knit team? As a Technical Production Worker at DAF Trucks, you will be an essential link in the production process. In this active, physical role, you and your colleagues will ensure that production targets are met. And the most important part? Safety always comes first.

What will you be doing at the Component Paint Line?
Preparation: You will sort the metal parts and hang them up accurately, ensuring they are ready for the perfect coating layer.

Finishing: After the parts have dried, you will remove them from the hanging system.

Packing & Shipping: You will check, sort, and neatly pack the completed parts. After that, you will prepare them for shipment to the rest of the production line.

what will you do
The DAF Engine Factory features a state-of-the-art, automatically controlled assembly line. Here, we transform a bare engine block into a complete, powerful DAF engine.

Together with a close-knit team of about 15 proud colleagues, you will be responsible for a specific part of the engine. The work takes place at a fast pace, making your day fly by. Your tasks will be both practical and challenging.

• Precision Assembly: You will mount crucial parts in or onto the engine block, such as the crankshaft, pistons, camshaft, or the gearbox.

The DAF site is massive and is located just outside the city center of Eindhoven. The production facility in Eindhoven spans approximately 900,000 m². In total, more than 7,000 employees work on the Eindhoven premises. To give you an idea of the scale, a total of 60,000 trucks were produced here in 2021. Who you are

What will you do
As an assembly worker, you are a key part of the production line. You'll start with a fully paid training period so you know exactly what to do. After that, you will join a fixed team of 15 to 20 colleagues. You will rotate between different workstations, which means your tasks will become more varied as you learn more.
It is good to know that this is a very active job. You are standing all day and often leaning over the truck chassis. The belt keeps moving, meaning you and your team have about 4 minutes to finish your tasks for each truck. It is physical work, but the steady pace means the day flies by.
You will work 8-hour shifts with a 30-minute unpaid break and a 15-minute paid break.

Do you work overtime? That pays well:

• After 8 hours, you get a 23.2% bonus for the first two hours
• 37.6% after that
• 65% on Saturdays
• and 84% on Sundays.

Where will you work
Welcome to DAF Trucks in Eindhoven! You will work at a facility that receives cabins and axles directly from Belgium to produce a massive 240 trucks every single day. The Paccar Distribution Center (PDC) uses highly advanced logistics systems like voice-activated picking and assembly.

What will you do
As an assembly worker at DAF, you play a crucial role in the logistics process. After thorough, full-time, and paid training, you will be further trained at your workstation by an experienced colleague.
Working at DAF means you have to work in a team. When you start working in a team at DAF, you remain in this team and it is not possible for you to work in another team.

Within the team there are a number of workstations, within which you will rotate. In the beginning, the work can be very monotonous/repeating, since you are not yet trained at all workstations. The longer you work there, the greater the chance that there will be more variety. The team size varies, but usually it comes down to 15 to 20 employees per shift.

You must take into account that it is physically very heavy, whereby you get muscle pain. This can be muscle pain in your hands, arms and legs. In addition, some teams require you to hang over the chassis, which can be hard on your back. Furthermore, you are constantly standing.

You will have two breaks in an 8-hour shift (a half-hour break and a 15-minute break). The half hour break, you will not get paid.
Overtime is the hours worked in addition to the timetable by the supervisor (all hours worked in excess of the 8 hours are overtime hours).
For the first 2 overtime hours: + 23.2%.
For the other overtime periods (> 2 hours overtime): + 37.6%
Saturday overtime addition = + 65%
Sunday overtime addition = + 84%

Where will you work
The Paccar Distribution Center (PDC) is the largest DAF Trucks distribution center worldwide. The PDC supplies DAF dealers directly in the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, and France. In addition, it supplies other European PDCs on a daily basis.
To guarantee fast delivery of the right parts, the distribution center uses advanced logistics systems. One of these systems is voice-activated picking orders and assembly .

A ''pendelweek'' at DAF means the salary will be paid on wednesday (instead of the regular monday). So the employee will receive his or her salary on thursday or friday.

Day one = introduction at DAF, receiving company clothes, getting BSN
Day two = starting the job + DAF training
In the summer the company is closed from week 30,31,32. There is no work in the factory at that moment.

• The axles and cabins are made in Westerlo (another factory in Belgium) and transported to DAF Eindhoven on a daily basis. DAF will produce 240 trucks every day!
