So, what exactly does a logistics employee do at PostNL Zaltbommel? As a transfer and storage location for PostNL, you will be working with your colleagues to load and unload trucks. Drivers come and go throughout the day. You will assist them by unloading roll containers and placing them in the correct storage areas. You will do this at a steady pace, allowing the drivers to get back on the road quickly. If an empty truck arrives, you will help with loading, ensuring the correct containers go with the driver. Since trucks arrive at various times, your work operates on a rotating shift schedule.
As a logistics employee, you will be part of an international team. Together you will ensure each driver sends the correct roll containers out. What we offerAs a logistics employee nightshifts, you help with loading and unloading trucks. This means moving roll containers that can weigh up to 150 kilos. No problem for you! Additionally, you are available for at least three evenings/nights and:
PostNL Tiel is one of PostNL's crossdock locations. Here, roll containers full of packages are transferred to be sent to the correct destination with a different driver. How does this work? Trucks arrive with, for example, three roll containers for the Tilburg region and three for the Breda region. Each region is collected separately so that a full truck can drive to Tilburg and another to Breda. This saves unnecessary trips across the country for just a few roll containers. As a logistics employee nightshifts, you unload the trucks and place the roll containers in the right sections. Is there an empty truck that needs to be filled? You make sure the correct roll containers are loaded. Then you neatly put the roll containers back into the truck.
The PostNL Tiel warehouse is located at Hoekwei 6 in Tiel. You can easily reach it by car, bike or scooter. PostNL Zaltbommel is a transfer and storage location, also known as a cross-dock, not a sorting center. A lot of trucks come to the depot; some arrive to unload roll containers, while others come to load them. You will ensure that containers are correctly placed for each driver, assisting with both loading and unloading. This includes positioning containers so they are ready for the next driver or stored temporarily without obstructing others. Arriving at the large PostNL warehouse in Zaltbommel, you greet your colleagues and grab a quick drink.
