Functie-inhoud

• Werk de conceptontwerpen van process engineers uit tot gedetailleerde fabricage- en montage-tekeningen in SolidWorks, inclusief onderdelen- en lasdetails.
• Maak technische berekeningen voor mechanische belastingen, sterkte en materiaalselectie conform industriepraktijk en toepas relevante veiligheidsfactoren.
• Ontwerp plotplannen met schematische plaatsing van piping, apparatuur en ondersteunende constructies voor productie en installatie.

Functie-eisen

• Minimaal HBO werk- en denkniveau, bij voorkeur Werktuigbouwkunde, met aantoonbare kennis van procestechniek en machinebouw.
• Ten minste vijf jaar relevante werkervaring in ontwerp of constructie van procesinstallaties of vergelijkbare mechanische systemen.
• Ruime ervaring met SolidWorks; je maakt basic designs, onderdelenmodellen, samenstellingen en uitvoerbare technische tekeningen.
• Bekend met lezen en toepassen van P&ID’s en Hazop-methodiek; kennis van de Pressure Equipment Directive is een pré.
• Goede beheersing van Nederlands en Engels; technische documentatie en klantcontacten voer je effectief in beide talen.

Summary of the role

The Associate Commercial Lab Engineer supports safe, effective, and efficient testing activities in the European demonstration center. Working under the guidance of senior lab engineering, sales, or business development colleagues, this role assists with equipment setup, test execution, documentation, lab organization, and preparation of customer demonstrations. Role and Responsibilities

• Support customer tests and demonstrations in the European demonstration center, under supervision.
• Assist with preparation, setup, operation, and clean-up of lab equipment for defined test scenarios.
• Follow established safety procedures and laboratory standards when working with equipment, materials, hand tools, power tools, and electrical systems.
• Document test conditions, observations, results, equipment settings, and relevant technical details accurately and consistently.
• Coordinate with senior colleagues, engineering, sales, and application specialists to understand test objectives and priorities.
• Help maintain the lab in a clean, organized, safe, and audit-ready condition.
• Execute basic maintenance tasks on the lab and demo equipment.
• Conduct basic training sessions for both internal teams and external customers
• Assist with tracking lab supplies, consumables, tools, and equipment readiness, escalating needs for replenishment or maintenance.
• Contribute to basic troubleshooting and problem-solving during tests, escalating complex issues as appropriate.
• Develop product and application knowledge across relevant Nordson ICS product lines.
• Support preparation of test summaries, customer-facing information, and internal updates as requested.

Skills and Qualifications

• Associate degree, bachelor’s degree, vocational qualification, or equivalent technical training in engineering, mechatronics, electrical, mechanical, industrial, or a related technical discipline preferred.
• 0–2 years of experience in a technical, laboratory, manufacturing, service, engineering, or customer-support environment.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to document technical information accurately and consistently.
• Good communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and customer-facing personnel.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Analytical mindset with basic problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn new technologies, products, and applications.
• English language skills required; German or additional European language skills are considered an advantage.
• Exposure to automation, electrical systems, robot programming, or powder finishing applications is beneficial but not required.

Travel

• Occasional travel within Europe may be required to support customer demonstrations, training activities, and business needs.

You perform maintenance tasks, troubleshoot electrical and mechanical faults, and make sure machines are quickly operational again. Who you are
Does this sound like you?:

• A completed technical education at MBO-4 level;
• 1 year of relevant work experience within a manufacturing or maintenance environment;
• Knowledge of technical drawings and schematics;
• Good command of the Dutch or English languages;
• In possession of Basic VCA and NEN 3140 certificates, or willing to obtain these;
• Experience with Microsoft Office;
• An independent working attitude combined with a strong team mentality.

What will you do
As a Maintenance Technician, you will be engaged in both electrical and mechanical work. Your responsibilities include:

• Performing preventive maintenance on production machinery and equipment;
• Overhauling and replacing machine components;
• Analyzing and troubleshooting complex faults;
• Managing and monitoring utilities and related installations;
• Performing installation work and machine set-ups;
• Identifying areas for improvement and proposing optimizations;
• Drafting, managing, and updating maintenance documentation.
