As a Junior Orderpicker in Waddinxveen, you play an important role in the logistics process of one of the largest supermarket distribution centers in the region. Your daily tasks focus on collecting orders from the chilled and frozen sections of the warehouse, ensuring products are ready for delivery to stores on time. You use a voice-controlled picking system and electric pallet trucks to move goods efficiently. The warehouse environment is fast-paced, and you’ll be working in cold areas, so suitable clothing is provided. You help maintain a clean and safe workspace and check that orders are complete and accurate before dispatch.

• Collect orders from chilled (cooling) and frozen (deep freeze) warehouse areas
• Operate pallet trucks and use voice-picking systems to locate products
• Prepare orders for shipment, ensuring accuracy and timely handling
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in your work area
• Report any issues with products or equipment to your supervisor

You’ll work full-time, 38 to 40 hours per week, in rotating shifts including early mornings, afternoons, and evenings. Weekend shifts may be required depending on demand.

Who you are

Do you already have experience as assembly worker ? You are also:

• • Physically fit
• • Assembly background (don't think of packing small boxes or fine assembly work.)
• • Can work in a team
• • Being able to work under high pressure (in connection with the takt times, the belt continues to rotate), about 4 minutes per truck.
• • Can work in shifts from 07.00 to 15.30 and from 15.30 to 00.00.
• • Reliable in attendance and can be easily reached (by phone).
• • Speaks the English language fluently
• • You must be able to read a work instruction well in order to assemble the right materials onto the chassis.

What will you do
As an assembly worker at DAF, you play a crucial role in the logistics process. After thorough, full-time, and paid training, you will be further trained at your workstation by an experienced colleague.
Working at DAF means you have to work in a team. When you start working in a team at DAF, you remain in this team and it is not possible for you to work in another team.

Within the team there are a number of workstations, within which you will rotate. In the beginning, the work can be very monotonous/repeating, since you are not yet trained at all workstations. The longer you work there, the greater the chance that there will be more variety. The team size varies, but usually it comes down to 15 to 20 employees per shift.

You must take into account that it is physically very heavy, whereby you get muscle pain. This can be muscle pain in your hands, arms and legs. In addition, some teams require you to hang over the chassis, which can be hard on your back. Furthermore, you are constantly standing.

You will have two breaks in an 8-hour shift (a half-hour break and a 15-minute break). The half hour break, you will not get paid.
Overtime is the hours worked in addition to the timetable by the supervisor (all hours worked in excess of the 8 hours are overtime hours).
For the first 2 overtime hours: + 23.2%.
For the other overtime periods (> 2 hours overtime): + 37.6%
Saturday overtime addition = + 65%
Sunday overtime addition = + 84%

Where will you work
The Paccar Distribution Center (PDC) is the largest DAF Trucks distribution center worldwide. The PDC supplies DAF dealers directly in the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, and France. In addition, it supplies other European PDCs on a daily basis.
To guarantee fast delivery of the right parts, the distribution center uses advanced logistics systems. One of these systems is voice-activated picking orders and assembly .

A ''pendelweek'' at DAF means the salary will be paid on wednesday (instead of the regular monday). So the employee will receive his or her salary on thursday or friday.

Day one = introduction at DAF, receiving company clothes, getting BSN
Day two = starting the job + DAF training
In the summer the company is closed from week 30,31,32. There is no work in the factory at that moment.
