We have an internship position available for enthusiastic and driven student within the department Process Science Modelling and data (PSMD) Innovative Medicine in Leiden. We are looking for an enthusiastic student for 40 hours per week. The duration of an internship is at least 4 months. The preferred start date is September 2025. Exact start and end dates are negotiable.

We are currently looking for a student who meets the following criteria:
- Must be currently enrolled in a Chemical Engineering master's or equivalent degree program.
- ï‚· Key role in developing a phenomenological model for simulating bioreactors.
- ï‚· Development of the model will involve computational fluid dynamics (CFD).
- ï‚· Knowledge of CFD and an interest in this field is essential.
- ï‚· Programming in Python is required for this project, and knowledge in programming would make you an excellent fit for this program.
This group focuses on improving the understanding and optimization of processes through sophisticated modelling and data analysis techniques by improving statistical methods, mechanistic modelling, and other computational tools. It is important that the candidate be reliable, eager to learn, and possess good
communication and time-management skills. Qualified candidates must have the ability
to work independently and as part of a team.
