Do you enjoy working with metal and turning technical drawings into complete constructions? As a Construction Fitter, you will work on a variety of metal structures within a technical production environment. You will receive your own work orders and make sure each job is completed accurately and according to schedule. Depending on your experience, you can work independently or receive guidance to further develop your skills.

Our client is a technical manufacturing company located in the Vlaardingen area, specialising in the production and assembly of metal constructions. The workshop handles a variety of projects where craftsmanship, quality and teamwork are important. You will join a practical working environment with experienced colleagues, where you have the freedom to work independently and further develop your technical skills.

Functie

• Assemble and machine various metal constructions
• Work according to technical drawings and work orders
• Perform different metalworking activities
• Check your own work for dimensions and quality
• Determine the correct working method and sequence
• Identify technical issues and discuss them with the workshop supervisor when necessary

Functie-eisen

• MBO-level education or equivalent experience in construction, metalworking or a similar technical field
• Experience as a Construction Fitter or in metalworking
• Able to read and understand technical drawings
• Accurate and focused on delivering good-quality work
• Able to work independently as well as within a team

As a Construction Fitter / Mechanic at NS Treinmodernisering in Haarlem, you will work on repairing and assembling train doors, windows, and heavy metal structures! You will earn up to €24.28 gross per hour based on a 36-hour workweek, with immediate prospects of a permanent contract. On top of free train travel for you and your family, you will work at a unique, circular location featuring its own padel court. Do you speak English or Dutch? Both languages are welcome!

As a Train Technology Mechanic at NS, you must meet the following requirements:

• You speak Dutch or English
• You have at least an MBO level 2 diploma in a technical direction

what will you do
At the Supply department of NS Treinmodernisering in Haarlem, you are the specialist who overhauls and renews interior and exterior components of various NS train types. You work on heavy metal structures and specialize in dismantling and assembling various train doors, seals, windows, and locks. You read technical drawings, follow work instructions, and take a problem-solving approach to bottlenecks in consultation with your supervisor. This way, the trains will soon hit the tracks again rock-solid, safe, and as good as new!

• Dismantling and assembling various train doors, seals, windows, and locks
• Repairing, modifying, and renewing heavy metal structures and bodies
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings and work documents
• Working in accordance with work instructions and safety standards
• Taking a problem-solving approach in the absence of instructions
• Accurately executing assembly tasks with an eye for detail
