We are looking for a full-time, permanent District Health & Safety Specialist to join our team in the Netherlands. In this role, you will be responsible for managing, analyzing, and reporting Health & Safety (H&S) data and processes within the business unit you support. You will perform data processing, data analysis, queries, and audits for the H&S department. You will support operational teams in developing the skills and capabilities required to effectively manage H&S processes in line with UPS's Health & Safety strategy. In addition, you will play an active role in implementing new projects and conducting risk assessments.
The position also includes the role of Prevention Advisor. In this capacity, you will collaborate with employee representatives, management, and external stakeholders, including H&S regulatory and enforcement authorities, to identify and mitigate current and future risks.

What will you do?
- Collect, organize, and analyze Health & Safety data to support continuous improvement initiatives across operations and support functions. Generate and distribute reports on injuries, vehicle accidents, incidents, compliance metrics, and other key safety performance indicators for business unit leadership.
- Monitor Health & Safety compliance metrics to ensure ongoing audit readiness. Review and validate injury, illness, and accident reports across UPS locations, ensuring accurate documentation, investigation, and timely follow-up of corrective actions.
- Stay informed on developments in Health & Safety systems, technologies, and best practices. Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve data quality, and enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of H&S reporting and management systems.
- Conduct workplace inspections and site visits to identify hazards and reduce operational risks. Support the planning, delivery, and validation of Health & Safety training programs while reinforcing H&S responsibilities and expectations with operational leadership.
- Assist in conducting data-driven investigations and root cause analyses for incidents and safety concerns. Support the development and implementation of corrective and preventive measures to address identified risks and improve overall safety performance.
- Partner with Health & Safety management to define reporting requirements, KPIs, and performance metrics. Support the implementation of safety initiatives, regulatory compliance activities, risk assessments, and other strategic Health & Safety projects.

Job description
Responsibilities
- Serve as an operations specialist in one major area of CE operations (e.g., electrical, mechanical, controls, generators) and works on advanced tasks independently.
- Inspect and supervise critical environment-related facility equipment (e.g., controls, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning [HVAC], mechanical systems), building, and grounds regularly for unsafe or abnormal conditions and escalate per applicable policies and standards.
- Utilize internal computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to track all equipment assets and to complete work order requests for maintenance work.
- Safely and quickly respond to and lead onsite incident response teams for all abnormal conditions that impact operations, and coordinates with other critical facilities professionals to perform corrective repairs, without supervision.
- Enhance, develop new or follow preexisting emergency operating procedures (EOPs), methods of procedure (MOPs), and standard operating procedures (SOPs) in relation to CE operations and incidents.
- Under minimal oversight, perform various types of maintenance (e.g., planned, predictive, corrective) and repairs following methods of procedure (MOPs), and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for one or more types of equipment (e.g., electrical, mechanical, cooling systems), correct procedures.
- Have a hands-on understanding of how equipment works and how to troubleshoot equipment, systems, subsystems, and components independently within their trained discipline.
- Provides consultation to lower-level colleagues in troubleshooting systems and problems.
- Understands, follows, and ensures safety and security requirements (e.g., job hazard assessments [JHAs], environmental health and safety (EH&S), toolbox talks), and business processes and procedures to properly perform work in a safe, quality, and reliable within Microsoft requirements.

Als EHS Officer bij Elicron ben jij de motor achter onze actieve veiligheidscultuur. Jouw doel is glashelder: zorgen dat veiligheid niet alleen in mappen bestaat, maar echt gaat en blijft leven bij onze collega’s. De papieren basis staat; aan jou de uitdaging om de theorie om te zetten in tastbare acties. Je bent de vertrouwenspersoon bij de machines, de kritische blik tijdens audits en degene die de meldingsbereidheid naar een recordhoogte tilt. Jij minimaliseert de risico’s op het gebied van milieu, veiligheid en gezondheid en zorgt dat iedereen elke dag weer veilig en gezond naar huis gaat. Wat ga je doen?- Zichtbaarheid & audits: je loopt dagelijks audits op de productie. Je herkent gevaren direct, spreekt collega’s op een positieve manier aan op gedrag (zoals het dragen van PBM’s) en verhoogt op een positieve manier de meldingsbereidheid voor bijna-ongevallen.
- Sleutelprojecten trekken: je krijgt een rol in mooie, impactvolle projecten. Denk hierbij aan het begeleiden van de veiligheid rondom onze gloednieuwe etslijn, het optimaliseren van de luchtkwaliteit in de fabriek of het testen van ergonomische hulpmiddelen zoals exoskeletten om zwaar tillen te verlichten.
- EHS-structuur & ISO-certificeringen: je bouwt het EHS-systeem verder uit, houdt de Taak-Risico-Analyses (TRA’s) scherp, implementeert een helder werkvergunningsysteem en levert een actieve bijdrage aan het behalen van de ISO 14001- en ISO 45001-certificeringen.

- Achtergrond: je hebt een afgeronde technische mbo-opleiding (bijv. WTB of Chemie), gecombineerd met een MVK-opleiding. Je hebt enkele jaren ervaring in een soortgelijke EHS-rol binnen bijvoorbeeld de metaal-, chemie- of procesindustrie. Daarnaast heb je een uitstekende beheersing van de Nederlandse en Engelse taal.
Arbeidsvoorwaarden - Salaris: een bruto jaarsalaris van € 53.226,- tot € 62.921,- op basis van een 38-urige werkweek, inclusief 8% vakantiegeld en vaste toeslagen. Dit komt neer op € 4.107,- tot € 4.855,- bruto per maand.
- Bonus: een jaarlijkse bonus van 0-4% op basis van prestaties.
